Farmstead Golf & Country Club - Valleyview/Lakeview Course
About
The Valleyview nine is the most difficult course at the 27-hole Farmstead Golf & Country Club, which is located in northwest New Jersey approximately one hour from New York City. Small greens, tree-lined fairways, hilly terrain and out of bounds on seven of nine holes are among the reasons the Valleyview nine is a test. The Byron Phoebus design opened in 1979.

Nice course
Really nice place. The "Valley" course is my least favorite
Course. Four par 3 holes ..not a big fan. Overall the course is in great condition. Greens and fairways are beautiful. Variety of holes makes it a lot of fun. Second time playing here, both times excellent conditions. Must try it for yourself
Great Course - Great Day
Course was in excellent shape. Pace of play was horrendous. Our threesome had to wait at every hole to tee off. Definitely needed Rangers out there to move some of the people along. Normally I don't hesitate to play here but after today's round I might think twice about returning.
GREAT DAY ON THE COURSE
COURSE WAS IN EXCELLENT CODITION - LUSH FAIRWAYS AND GREENS.
Slow
Slow greens and really slow pace of play..5HOURS!!
Love Farmstead
I play here a few times a month. Great course with very friendly staff. Course was immaculate, especially for a Father's day afternoon round. Only complaint is no cart girl on a Sunday afternoon?? Only thing I can think of is maybe some people called out. Hoping all courses put the water jugs back out also!
Saturday morning
Play was slow. Almost a 5 hour round. Other than that great day
Worth the Drive
Depending on where you're coming from, this could be a bit of a drive, but this course is absolutely worth it. Rough is deep but the grass is forgiving, fairways are perfectly spongey, and the greens are deceptive. Wonderful layout, some tricky holes, some scoring holes - some perfectly placed fairway bunkers too. My only knock is that there was a very slow group in front of us (round took nearly 5 hours to play) and the ranger who was very present on the course didn't encourage them to play faster. It wasn't a big deal to me, plenty of great scenery to check out while we waited to take our next shots.
