About
The Valleyview nine is the most difficult course at the 27-hole Farmstead Golf & Country Club, which is located in northwest New Jersey approximately one hour from New York City. Small greens, tree-lined fairways, hilly terrain and out of bounds on seven of nine holes are among the reasons the Valleyview nine is a test. The Byron Phoebus design opened in 1979.

Hire a Ranger and Cut the Greens
Course conditions were decent for late October. The greens must not have been cut in a couple days so putting was rough. The bigger issue was pace of play and zero stars would be appropriate if that was an option. A sub 4 hour round was turned into a 5 hour round by a rude group who had no course etiquette and no ranger on the course to prevent them from jamming the course up and causing waits on every shot.
Great conditions
Course was in remarkable shape. Staff was very friendly, beautiful place- I just wish we’d started earlier, by 6:30 we had to get off the course due to darkness

Course is nice, well maintained. Pace of play was maddening. Especially on the back 9 aka Clubview.
GPS in the carts would helpful.
Played 2 weeks in a row
My only objection to this place is that it is perfect for outings and I hate outings. I like to play and walk on Fridays, and this course is perfect for this. I also walk Bethpage Black
Aeration
Would have been nice to know that they were aerating the course and they were temporary greens

Well maintained course, played Lake to Club for the 18. Excellent staff well run golf facility.
Can't beat it for the money
Course was in pretty good shape. Fairways and rough were a little hairy but very playable. Greens had really good speed and in nice shape. I highly recommend specially for the price.
Farmstead
Course is well maintained and a pleasure to play. Pace of play was quite good given it was a holiday. This was the first time I played the Club view.
