Farmstead Golf & Country Club - Clubview/Valleyview Course
About
The Clubview nine, which opened in 1963, is the original course at the 27-hole Farmstead Golf & Country Club, located in northwest New Jersey, approximately one hour from New York City. Offering a traditional mix of par 3s, par 4s and par 5s, accuracy is key on the Byron Phoebus-designed course. The Clubview nine closes with two very demanding holes, the long par-4 eighth, with an approach shot over water, and the par-3 ninth, which is surrounded by water.

Lake View nine was great, good condition and some pretty holes. The Valley nine was pretty weak, so if you play this course make sure you play the Lake and Club nines. Staff is always very friendly and helpful.
Great guys
I have had the pleasure of playing with some fine gentlemen at Farmstead . As a recent retiree it is the most pleasant of places to play for sure .
Great course
Wonderful course for my first round of the year. Pretty great condition for early March. This course has tough placements and some tight shots are required with all the water that comes into play.
Gotta check it out!
March golf
Course in great shape for early March, even the bunkers. Very friendly staff. Highly recommended
Awesome layout
Great course played it in colder weather for a cheaper price def gonna come back in a few months and play again!!
It Starts With The Staff
You always get a warm greeting from the agent on duty. The 're all pleasant and try to satisfy your special needs. This always makes me feel good about playing here. It is a 55 minute ride from my house. The tees are obviously rotated constantly as I have never hit off a bare spot. Choice of tees is quite fair and they are flat. The fairways have no bare spots and the first cut is very fair. Yardage markers are within 4 yards of my laser rangefinder. This time of year, you hate leaves. Not a problem as they blow them away. Have not lost any balls under leaves. The pin placements are also ver fair and not with 6 feet of any edge. The speed will vary from course to course but not radically different. They have been rolled so no bumping around. All in all, a very pleasant under 4 hour round is usual.
Wonderful course, not too challenging, well maintained!
Farmstead is a wonderful course that I love to play. Interesting layout, not overly challenging but just enough to want the mid handicap golfer to return play again. I really do love playing Farmstead!
My round at Farmstead
Lake/Club: First hole is a temp, several greens aerated and no one mentioned that. Practice green in great condition but not reflective of most of the greens on the course. Pace of play was atrociously slow. I could have taken a nap between holes.
farmstead
very disappointing! in may-june course was very good! but now the greens were slow and in terrible condition!!!
Nice course
Definitely worth playing if you are within a half hour drive.
