Farmstead Golf & Country Club - Clubview/Valleyview Course
About
The Clubview nine, which opened in 1963, is the original course at the 27-hole Farmstead Golf & Country Club, located in northwest New Jersey, approximately one hour from New York City. Offering a traditional mix of par 3s, par 4s and par 5s, accuracy is key on the Byron Phoebus-designed course. The Clubview nine closes with two very demanding holes, the long par-4 eighth, with an approach shot over water, and the par-3 ninth, which is surrounded by water.

Golfer Reviews
Great course
Greens were in great shape, the entire course condition was excellent. Farmstead is a great track
Had a great time playing with a friend and the two we were teamed up with. Big issue you can't bring water on the course with no cooler, but when you get the cart girl she has no ice or bags to put ice in. So by the turn your beer is warm. Minor issue .
Bigger issue that no one repairs their divots on the green. We as a group must of repaired 10 per hole. Feel bad for the grounds crew.
We played Valley Lake view, the valley view the greens were impeccable with 0 imperfections and the layout was challenging. However the lake view greens need some work as they’re a significant amount of ballmarks and imperfections in the green. Overall was a fantastic round.
great deal
For me one of the nicest public courses in New Jersey - great layout - friendly staff - enough challenges - lots of wildlife viewing - beautiful setting - fantastic snack house at the turn and restaurant/bar for after golf - all in an historic barnyard setting - a must play
Very nice course
Had a great time playing. Course is in great shape. Going back with my group on the 12th of May. 5 T Times.
Enjoy Playing Farmstead
The course was in great shape. Four played at $22 each. New carts in 2018. I was surprised how the course rebounded after a tough winter in NJ. I recommend this course for without reservation. We played Lake to Club. The Valley is a shorter course with difficult par 3s. You need to make shots on this course,
Limitations: No driving range.
Worth the Drive
I have always preferred Lakeview to Club View but regardless, the course is always well maintained and management keeps pace acceptable.
Pace of play
The pace of play for Lake and Club this Saturday was the worst I have experienced in a long time. Course was in great shape for this time of the year.
Challenge yourself
Play this course from the Blues, it's a much better challenge. White and red tees are close. Greens in good condition, despite a horrible March in NJ
Great shape but quircky layout
I would not play this 18 again. Play club and Lake. Much better track.
Play this course!!!
This was without a doubt one of the nicer courses I've played this season. Our Tee time was 12:12 we went out about 10 minutes early. There was only 2 of us, so they paired us with another twosome. Which I usually don't like, but this time was quite fun. With it being almost December the course was leave free and in GREAT shape. The starters were friendly and gave you all the info you would need to play the course! Definitely gonna play this course again! N.
