Farmstead Golf & Country Club - Lakeview/Clubview Course
About
Water comes into play on six holes on the Lakeview nine at the 27-hole Farmstead Golf & Country Club, which is located in northwest New Jersey approximately an hour from New York City. None is more challenging than the closing hole, a very short -- but very intimidating -- par 3 over water. The Byron Phoebus design opened in 1965.

Early Round
Given the wet conditions and early season, course should oresent really well this year. Did some tree removal and maintenance over the off season, I look forward to a spring and summer round here this year
Lake and Club
Played march 16th 2022 , great weather 65 degrees and sunny, course was in good condition considering it was march, greens were true and in great condition, only drawback was no beverages available , clubhouse was closed..This time of year , bring your own !!!
Fun December Day with My Son!
Started off great with the pro behind the cash register being very kind, and then only having to pay $34 to walk (this course is very easy to walk...).
Tees and fairways and greens were in great shape for the winter. A bit slow in front of us, but, hey, nothing to complain about...just gave me a little more time to shoot the bull with my son. Played from the whites which were up pretty far up, so had no problem shooting my mid-70s round....lol. PS. When we got here we realized my son had played a US Kids Tournament here 10 years earlier... So it was cool to see him break 40 on the back nine and bring back some great memories of him playing well here when he was younger...
Thanks for being open, Farmstead. It's much appreciated!!
Excellent track
I would HIGHLY recommend playing Farmstead to any and all golfers. The course is always in beautiful shape any time of the year. Just love this course!!
Course in fantastic shape for mid December. No leaves or branches anywhere, bunkers raked, rough was under control. Great pace of play as everyone out there wanted to finish before dark. Teed off at 12 and finished 3:45. Thanks to Scott and the staff for a very enjoyable round.
nice round
Greens and fairways in good condition, grounds very pleasant to spend 4 hours on. starter and office folks great. cart was clean in great condition. would return!
Staff behavior
I like playing this course specially lake and club and wanted to get a round in this fall despite the fact it is in a very remote corner of NJ and sits off of Route 15 which is peppered with speed traps. Two things they got to do better if they want people to hike there and play 1) the starter pushed everyone to Lake 9 first creating a very crowded and back to back play which was backed up. We did ask the starter to have us play Club 9 twice and he refused. They need to be flexible and better manage the traffic specially on the weekend rather than be very rigid. It took us over 5 hours to complete the round and on one of the par 5’s there were close to 16 people on the hole just waiting 2) a separate course ranger started - an extremely rude lady was standing in plain sight enforcing rules and interrupting the whole time warning people about small little things which was very disruptive. Very annoying and we had to go and talk to her as it was just running our focus. Finally she backed off and rode away. Really bad experience.
