Farmstead Golf & Country Club - Lakeview/Clubview Course
About
Water comes into play on six holes on the Lakeview nine at the 27-hole Farmstead Golf & Country Club, which is located in northwest New Jersey approximately an hour from New York City. None is more challenging than the closing hole, a very short -- but very intimidating -- par 3 over water. The Byron Phoebus design opened in 1965.

Farmstead 10/1/23
Was a great course and had alot of fun!
Pace of play was the only problem as the people in front of us were being very inconsiderate of the people behind. We all have to learn and have fun but unfortunately when you hit a drive and it doesnt even make it to the womens tee you should probably just drop a ball and continue play….. coming from a beginner.
What a spectacular course and day
It has been almost 10 years since I played Farmstead. Played many outings btw 1991 and 2012. I was so impressed with the course condition after days of rain. The staff was both friendly. Professional and courteous. I scheduled a foursome on Wed 9/27/23 and we had a great day. The bar was excellent and the staff was great. We will make this a regular stop. Also a great weekday price for a senior st $50 with a cart on a week day. Mike Szmidt
Great Condition - Fast Pace of Play
Got out as a solo for 9 on Valleyview and finished in 90 minutes. Course was in Great Condition
Great shape. Some pace issues.
Course is in good shape and beautiful to be on. It was wet so very path only wasn’t ideal. There was some pace of play issues and backups but a ranger was able to mostly sort it out. Got through 18 as a twosome in 4 hours. As a golfer on a budget it was a great round for the hot deal I was able to snag.
Little things
If there is not going to be a drink cart perhaps you can put water in the coolers. And ball washer could be filled.
Slow slow
There was an outing..5 hour round, waiting on every hole; no ranger to speed up play. Greens were the slowest greens I ever played and I have played in over 100 courses worldwide for decades..no one repairing ball marks. The only positive was the nice weather.
Great course!
Farmstead is one of my favorite courses. I do prefer playing the 9 split of Lake View and Club View.
Each 9 has its share of challenges but it's a good balance.
Very comfortable course
Farmstead is a friendly course with enough challenges to make it a great place to play. And, the scenery is awesome
Nice layout -great staff.
Course is in good shape for the amount of play it gets. Fun layout. A few tee boxes were in rough shape, but expected this time of year with all the play.
Greens were fine. Bunkers could use a little more sand. Rough is not overly done, fair if you find it.
One of my favorites
I've played the club/valley 18 two times now, and both times I've been impressed by the entire course, the conditions, the kind staff, and the excellent pace of play. The club 9 is a nice warmup to the much more difficult valley 9, but together they make for a challenging but rewarding 18 holes. I would definitely recommend this course.
farmstead
why cant they put the pin locator on the pin in the correct place.3 were off by 40ft. ???lazy-don't care??this is a ongoing problem!!!!!!
My New Favorite Place in NJ
Played the Lake course. What a fun course. But the whole experience was great from the course to the staff and restaurant and snack bar. 45 mins from my house but so worth it. I thank you
Course was in good shape. A couple of the Tee boxes were somewhat beat up but this is to be expected on a Saturday in the summer. The layout of the course is really nice with water around most of the holes. The people at the club house were quite friendly. There is a chipping and putting green available.
