New management
Caught wind that LCC is under new management. We noticed some improvement’s were made throughout the course. A few tee boxes need some TLC but besides that it looked great. Only thing I was upset about was not seeing the 2 trees in the fairway on hole 5. I’m excited to see the final outcome.
$72 is not worth it
I had a tee time last Saturday morning April 20th. It was raining heavily from 5-9 am. Canceled tee time through golf now as I didn’t want to have my buddy traveling from farther distance have to drive all the way here in the weather. Anyways 5 days later they charge my card for both players and said it wasn’t raining there. They refuse to refund it and have zero business ethic. 1 star. place will never get my business again and there’s been other issues with this course 5-6 times I played before. It gets backed up especially after the turn and the maintenance is below average. Not a course that should be charging $72 a person.
Good neighbor course for Tom’s river residents!
Fast green and well managed course condition! However, layout of the course is not great.. Friendly staffs and quick pace of playing. If i reside at south Jersey, I would definitely play every time. Unfortunately, I have to driver almost 2 hours to play the course.

Not worth the money at all
Course is in terrible shape. Greens were horrific and all greenside areas were terrible. Crabgrass and just mudpiles. Out of 18 holes there maybe 3 tee boxes that had a flat lie. For the money they charge, you’re 100% better going elsewhere. If you’re going to spend $70/$80 go somewhere else. They shouldn’t be charging a dollar over $50
Glad you addressed the other areas such as signage 😂. Can’t imagine what the course looked like before that…
Notice how the only critique of mine you directly addressed was the crabgrass. Uneven tee boxes, mud patches all around the greens, long slow greens which looked like they were aerated a week ago and haven’t been treated properly since.
Layout is cool and fun. Good track when everything else is unavailable. But I stand by my original post that it’s simply not worth the price. Cream ridge has slightly better conditions but it’s 20% cheaper. NOT WORTH THE PRICE
Sorry to hear about your disappointment in our facility. Recently we’ve invested a lot of effort into improving overall conditions. Just to name a few: New play supplies and signage, tree work, drainage including greenside bunkers, Re-contouring of fairways, new fairway bunkers. Majority of our clientele have been complimentary of our efforts. I guess it just goes to show you can’t please everyone. Oh Yeah, crabgrass and other grassy weeds don’t even germinate until later in the year! Good luck with your golf game.
Putting work into it
Great fun layout. They r putting $$$ into it which is great to see. Redoing some tee boxes aeration of greens. Getting the attention it needs. Kudos to the greens and course team. Keep up the good work.

Fun day
Moment we walked in Pro shop s very friendly and gave us a lot of directions a cart gentleman was very helpful starter was nice We stopped and get a bottle of water at turn everybody was very friendly made us feel comfortable we will definitely be back

Good friendly course
I love playing Lakewood CC. The course is a fun course to play. Friendly staff, good atmosphere and a great 19th hole.

Ok, in a pinch
If you can’t get on your favorite course, this will do in a pinch. But I wouldn’t purposely play here for the money it costs to play here. There are better options for the price. This course is overpriced for the conditions.
On a positive note there are some challenging holes and challenging greens for sure. And some wide open fairways.

1st time out this season
Joined with 3 gentlemen from PA, all of us out for the first round of the season. It was a good time. Work on the 5th hole, so we had to play the alternate par3. Going to miss those 2 trees in the middle of the fairway, they were my target.

Lakewood dries out faster than most courses, and never had a cart path restriction.
