First time and last time playing at Lakewood
First time we played here. Be aware…. If you book a foursome and only 3 show up you will get charged for the 4th. (My buddy woke up with a bad back and couldn’t play). No other course that I have played, charges green fee and cart for the 4th. To make matters worse, they also charge you an additional $10 for a single rider in a cart. A rip off. Because of this I and my golf buddies will not play there again!

Still good
Greens problematic. Aeration ridges make putting very difficult.

This course sucks.
I’ve been playing at the Lakewood Counrty club for years .Every time I finish a round i always say this is my last time. The staff is almost always rude and the course is not well maintained. They over book there times and then are rude when your waiting .

Winter Round
Course in decent condition for winter. Greens a little bumpy and slow, but given the time of year not a big deal. Slow play. At least 2 holes open in front of group ahead of us.

Enjoyed playing this course for the first time
A really nice track considering the green fees and winter time. The greens roll very decent, and the course has enough different looks to make it interesting. It’s not easy by any means but not hard as well. The staff are very friendly and you get hot soup at the end too! I will definitely come back and play again.

Sometimes the staff can be cold
I like it, but sometimes the staff can be difficult. Also, they have removed the port-o-potty's and the ball washers are dry. There is noone manning the food wagon now. I wish they would have hand warming sites e.g. gas or charcoal grills. Also, wish there was a coffee and soup Cary during these cold winter days. In spite of the aforesaid, still a good place to play.

Very Nice course in Ocean County. Sad no longer taking membership
This course is always in better condition than the surrounding non-private courses so I bought a membership last year and really enjoyed playing regularly like 3x a week. Unfortunately, they said they had to stop membership this due to only having a certain amount of members which number kept changing depending who asked and answered. Course is fun with nice greens and well maintained in most holes. Just bummed out I have to pay so much more than I did last year making me try other courses. Always in good shape and the course changes from the blues to the whites to the seniors which I enjoyed, as a previous member.

Course was in great condition. Nice open easy to play with no leaves in the way! Was very glad to see they now post their single cart rider policy on GN now.
