Knob Hill Golf Course

I played the course - love the course and had a short coming which has now been remedied by LOU. Lou took the time to discuss my review, listened and stated ‘Knob Hill Staff will work hard to make sure every experience is worth coming back’...

I will definitely drive back down to the area and play a round of golf at this outstanding golf course

Averaged wait time between shots - 10-15 minutes.

Played the course at 11:20 am on a Thursday. 4 hour and 40 minute round. "Members" (groups in front of us) would hit a shot and then pull out their "golf ball retriever stick" and literally wander into the woods and start looking for balls. Every time a pond or lake was passed they would take out their retrievers and skim the lake for balls. I've never seen anything like it. The group in front of us would wait until the group in front of them left the green before teeing off! They were senior citizens and hit the ball about 80 yards off the tee. The quality of their game was not the issue - They would drive their carts to the woods or to the nearest pond before going to hit their second tee shot and look for stray balls as we waited at the tee box.

On the 17th hole - We asked the group in front of us politely if they would continue playing the hole. We were cursed out.

The pace of play was appalling. Conditions were good enough. I would bay $30-45 to play this course. We paid $50 for a hot deal. Cannot imagine paying their weekday fee of $75 to play. It blows my mind.

Friendly staff. Course was in very good shape (aside from a few bunkers and divots on the greens).

Tee boxes were moved way up. Very short course. Some narrow fairways and a whole lot of water. Awesome carts with gps to help with the layout.

Sure to make a second round year this year

someone in an earlier review said the last 4 holes are gimmicky....they are wrong....really solid golf holes. overall i love this course from the back tees....i just never seem to play it well....this day my game was awful....couldnt do anything right and posted my worse score of the year. go play and enjoy the scenery!

The staff is always friendly here and the course is nice. I feel like the tee boxes could be updated better though

First, I drove 1 hour 17 min to knob hill which I found going to a garden outlet nearby.

Decided to book a round, invited a friend to play. He met me there, get there and it hey lifted the two in a cart rule, I still wanted my own cart and that was pulling teeth. Granted.. The starter immediately tells me that outside drinks are not permissible, I corrected him it’s a titleist golf bag with my essentials for golf. He apologized. Moved on. Asked me if I have a collared shirt, duh driving 1 plus hours why would I wear golf shirt on such a long drive - felt insulted so moved beyond that.

2nd experience - again invited another friend. Early tee time - how ironic he says carts are one only no pairing - odd because this was after they lifted the initial Two somes for carts.. moved on - course still in good shape.

3rd outing - brought two friends and wife. Played 6 holes rained out - no one gave us a courtesy round nothing. I called spoke to Mike, mike says I’ll have to confirm it rained (huh, floods) 2 days earlier. No call or follow up.

4th (7/9) decided to take the drive up because the course is great -

Called ahead, made reservation solo. Get there I go to the pro shop, starter sees me as I’m Running to get my clubs, bag, etc. The guy says did you pay? I said yes, by now I’ve got 5 min to get on the box. He tell me wait let me confirm. I said really, he stops mid step says you’re right - take cart x. Offended to say the least. On hole 5 it’s backed up, what do I see. One player with no collar. IS HE PLAYING WITHOUT A COLLAR??? Yep.

It’s not the courses fault management has hired selective morons to run this business but I will say they need to meet prior and get on the same page.

I played the front 9 and enjoyed it. It’s a well maintained and challenging course. The course is in a community of homes and townhomes. As a beginner it always makes me nervous to hit near people’s homes and near streets, but fortunately my balls stayed on course! The golf carts are equipped with GPS and maps of each hole which was nice. My friends raved about the clubhouse restaurant food. I only had a couple of beers. All in all we had a really good time and I’d go back and play there again.

Players are not filling in divots and leaving tees at the box consistently. Nevertheless course is still in great condition and I love playing here as much as possible. Greens were in good condition.

Really gained an appreciation for Knob Hill after playing Sun Eagles in Eatontown/Ft Monmouth. For the same exact price on a prime-time Sunday tee time with a cart Knob Hill is in another league than Sun Eagles. At Knob pace of play is always decent, course conditions are always fantastic, and the course is ran by adult professionals. It's the exact opposite at Sun Eagles. Add on the touch screen computer on the carts at Knob that give you the distance to the hole and it's a no brainer. If you're going to spend $75 on a round of golf make sure you do it here.

Played late afternoon on a Sunday In 3:20 so absolutely no complaints about pace of play. It’s is in fine shape Tee to Green however the greens are a bit too soft for my liking. You can’t control Mother Nature but people can control whether or not they fix a ball mark. The place is littered with them. If everyone simply fixed their own plus one more there wouldn’t be a problem. Layout is quirky in spots, especially the last 4 holes which are on top of each other making for a bit of a shooting gallery. Staff was awesome, super friendly and helpful. Will be back

Just a great course, great condition, love the layout. Nice amenities staff is super friendly and accommodating Kevin, the manager is the best as is the starter Mike. Just wish the outside grill was no open. Some of the best sandwiches ever. The only inconvenience is having to pay up front when booking. Have to get reimbursed from group. Will be great when back to normal!

Highly recommend playing the course, in great shape, only issue was a few of the tee boxes need some work, nothing major. Great layout, back nine tougher and also nicer in terms of picturesque holes. Staff very friendly and accommodating. I have played a handful of times in last two years and always look forward to playing.

The course is very well manicured and maintained. The course layout was very challenging with many level changes and well-defended greens. Put that together with some beautiful weather, and a great day of golf was had!
