Nice Greens
Have to compliment the maintenance crew. The greens were in excellent shape.
Fading
They put a lot of money into the course AND ESPECIALLY THE CLUBHOUSE. The course is very bumpy; basic matiemence is npt being done; too bad. The course is fun to play; pretty wide open and short.

Good public course, not too difficult, good condition and value
This was the first time playing the E. Orange course and, since I'm an average player at best, I wanted a course that would only be moderately challenging, but well maintained and enjoyable to play. This is exactly what I got. Starting with a driving range and putting area right next to the first tee. All aspects of the course were in good shape, Including the Greens which were slightly fast and decent sized. The sand traps were also reasonably soft - not like the concrete at many public courses. Don't get me wrong, it was not like a private course but very playable. It was walkable (although I drove a cart). My overall rating was "Good." only because I reserve "Excellent" for "fancy" courses that cost 2-3 times as much.

Poor Maintenance
The condition of this course has really gone downhill. Lots of weeds and bare spots on the fairways. The greens were in poor shape. The driving range mats were worn out. The back 9 was far better than the front 9. I played this course a few years ago and I don't recall the condition being nearly this bad. It's a shame because the location is convenient and the restaurant is nice.
There was no starter at the first tee so no one had any idea when to tee off. It created a backup after a couple of holes. I did not see a ranger at any point during the round and there was no drink cart.
The course, driving range and restaurant were crowded so it makes you wonder where the $$$ is going.

Great local course in good condition. Maintained very well by a professional staff. Great amenities in a COVID-19 world.

Very good course
I really enjoyed playing there and no rushed us. They could have but people are very polite and friendly. The green some work in but the course lay out is great.

Surprisingly good
Wasn't expecting to be as happy as I was playing this course. I used to to play this course a lot some years back and it isn't the same course now. Course was in pretty good shape and they have put a lot of money into the place. Pace of play was really unexpected, 4 hours on a Saturday @ 10am. Overall it was a nice day. Definitely going back.

Great but short course
I played here several times and it really is a good time. The course is pretty short, but the conditions are always pretty good. The greens roll pretty true and the fairways are okay, some ground under repair so there is mud in spots but overall not bad at all. The staff is always great, the range , chipping area , and putting green allow for a good warm up. I would definitely recommend East Orange
