The Nine Hole Par 3 at Bel-Aire Golf Club

What was meant to be a nice leisure day on the course became a nightmare. First off, the pace of play was horrific taking nearly 25 minutes to tee off for a par-3 course. The layout of the course is so crammed that I actually got hit in the face with a golf ball while on the green from a completely different tee box on the back 9. I ended up trying to get a refund at the turn for the back 9 because the impact from the golf ball on my face was giving me a headache and the staff said “sorry get home safe.” I would never recommend nor go to this course ever again.

Went there with my son June 10th around 4:50.The gentleman behind the desk told me the earliest he can get us on was 5:39. I said ok then we left l. Went back to our car and saw a tee time for 5:21 that was available.. The greatest part was there was Nobody on holes 1 and 2 that we can see from the parking lot. I guess he just wanted to go home.

I paid $6 to book reservation, ,but the starter disregarded my reserved time and sent me out 20 minutes early with 2 people who were leaving after 9. I wasn't quite mentally prepared since I had just gotten to the course and checked in and paid. After 9, I played 2 holes by myself. The ranger came and started yelling at me that I was slowing play. He demanded that I play with another pair ahead of me. My dog must be smarter than him, because he failed to notice that they were sitting on a bench waiting for the SLOW foursome ahead of them. They told me he never said a word to them or the foursome about slowing play. I guess he preferred to bully the small lone woman. I had to leave, I as so upset.

The 2 men I played with left after 9 holes and I played alone for 2 holes. The ranger came and yelled at me for slowing play. Apparently my dog has more brain power than him. He didn't notice that the 2 women ahead of me were sitting on the bench at each tee waiting for the foursome ahead of them. He demanded I play with the 2 women. They said he never said a word to them or the slow foursome about slowing play. I guess he felt like a real man bullying the small lone woman.

I am brand new beginner golfer, this was the second time I played a full 18-hole round. It had many par-3's and par-4's, it is basically a large chip&putt.

OK, so it's a par 60. I've been here with my son, business associates (who loved the course), and solo. Since the redesign a few years ago, I think it is much improved. Like any golf course, on crowded days, pace of play can slow- I don't hold that against the course. I have always noted, however, that the counter staff seems to feel like they would rather be elsewhere.

The course is kept in good condition. The greens were a little sandy and slow when I was there, so it was tough to judge the speed. Other than that, the facility is nice. The "club house" has a few things for sale, nothing major. There are two vending machines for a snack or drink. There's plenty of water jugs on the course and porta-potties at #11. The practice green is nice as is the fact that you can walk on most days. They'll pair you up or you can sometimes sneak on solo if there's no line at #1. I played solo last week and found two older gentlemen ahead of me who asked me to join them for a 3-some. Had a great round of golf with two very pleasant brothers in the 80's... that's what golf should be about.

Bottom line is you can play 18 holes, have a couple of challenging holes (love the elevated tee at #17), have some fun, and even on a slow day, be done in 3 hours.
