The negative
There was no drinking water on the course, and no ball cleaners. There was a halfway house on the 4th hole.
Pace of play was horrible!
It took us Three and a half hours to play 14 holes. There was no ranger on the course to check pace of play. We waited on every tee box for the group in front of us. The worst golf day ever.
Playin 18
My golf buddies and I feel since the new management took over the course has gone down hill . Why they changed 2. Holes from par 5 to par 4 when ppl who play there are amateur golfers. They also never put jugs of water out on really hot humid days . Last yr an attendant there said they had no way of filling jugs . I couldn’t believe he said that . We play there less now .
Spring Meadow GC in NJ
The good things...fairways and greens in solid shape. The pro shop staff was welcoming and friendly. The cart and bag guys were helpful and organized. The pub staff was friendly and attentive.
The not so good things...the tee boxes (especially on #10 where there is literally no grass!) need help. They either are lacking grass or not flat or well taken care of (broken tees all over the place). The course on certain holes needs trees to be either taken out or cut back. The cart paths are too bumpy and beat up.
The signage (directions to next hole; 100/150/200 yard signs non-existent).
For the money and availability, Spring Meadow is a nice alternative. The course has some interesting holes (#'s 2, 3, 4, 6, 10, 11, 12 stand out).
I hope money can continue to be put into the course and improve over time.
Play
Greens and most fairways were great. Tee boxes need help.
What Happened?
I really do hate writing negative reviews about any business, but I dont know what happened to this place. Havent played here in quite a few years and it was nothing like it to be. It's pretty obvious there is not a lot of money being put back into the grounds. There are better local options, especially for the price.
Mr Bru Bru
New ownership will take a while to get this course in better shape. Fairways are very nice greens were All consistent. Bunkers and tee boxes need work. Give it time. It’s gonna get there.
Course still needs some upgrades, I.e., no ball washers or drinking water on the course. Some, but not all tee boxes need renovations. Greens were in very good condition.
With a little loving
Really nice staff and good facilities. Several tee boxes are in dire need of grass. Signage between holes is missing. With little loving this could be almuch nicer
Ranger needed
Pace can get very slow and no one around to keep people moving.
Horrible condition
Car path is a mess
Fairway and greens terrible condition
No flow from one hole to another
Grounds keeping and Maintenance needs serious improvement it was in better shape before new ownership
