Spring Meadow Golf Club

It’s great to see spring meadow under new management and heading in the right direction. The improvements are noticeable, and it’s clear that there is a renewed effort to take better care of the course and improve the overall golfer experience.

The pro shop is a welcome upgrade, offering modern, up-to-date golf apparel and gear, along with an excellent selection of top-quality golf balls. The entire staff was exceptionally friendly and welcoming. The bag retrieval before your round and club cleaning afterward are great touches that add to the overall experience.

Meadow 28 is another highlight, with quality food and friendly staff. I’ll definitely continue stopping in after future rounds. It’s also great to see the halfway house open again, which is a welcome addition to the on-course experience.

**The course itself has some exciting changes.** I really like the updated layout, and finishing on the 18th-hole par 3 in front of the practice putting green creates a fun opportunity for some friendly heckling, cheers, and interaction between golfers. Adding the QR code for the par-3 challenge was another smart decision that brings something extra to the experience.

Of course, there are still areas that need attention. The trees near the bottom of the hill on the dogleg-left fourth hole need to be cleared back from the playing area. Several tee boxes could use some maintenance, and at least one needs a complete overhaul. The bathrooms could also benefit from some attention over time. These are legitimate concerns, but considering the course is under new management, I think it’s fair to allow another season or two for these improvements to take shape.

The greens, however, were in great condition and deserve recognition. I’d also encourage management to remind golfers about repairing their ball marks. Course maintenance is a shared responsibility, and taking care of the greens is essential to keeping them in the condition everyone wants to play on. Improving the overall appearance and upkeep of the course may also help establish a stronger culture of respect for the property.

One relatively simple improvement would be adding a few more garbage cans throughout the course. It’s a small investment that could make a meaningful difference in reducing litter and keeping the property clean.

Overall, **this course is moving in the right direction, and the progress deserves recognition.** The improvements to the layout, greens, pro shop, staff, food service, and overall experience make it clear that positive changes are underway. The current cost to play feels fair, and supporting a state-owned course that is actively working to improve is worthwhile.

I’ll definitely be back next weekend and plan to get in several more rounds this fall. There’s still work to do, but the foundation is there, the direction is encouraging, and I’m looking forward to seeing what another season of focused management can accomplish.

Making the two par 5's par 4's was a mistake. they are not reachable for the average golfer. Can't have 200 yard approach shots. Discouraging for the average golfer.

This place seemed to be on the upward trend when I played a few months ago, but it’s complete opposite. Fairways had mud pits and valleys all over, tee boxes were terrible. Greens were slow but in good shape that’s about it. I paid 50$ for twilight which isn’t terrible but the 80$ daytime price no way.

Awesome overall! I had a lot of fun there with a great friend of mine.

The course is well maintained. Everyone is super friendly that works there. Would recommend to anyone

course still needs a ton of work. greens are cut way too high, the tee boxes are in rough shape and hole 11 is not even a tee box. it seems like they have no way to pump water up to that tee box to grow grass. put some mats in place if that’s the case. i will not be going back any time soon.

All greens are consistent but they are too slow. Everything else is great.

Last time I played this course in the spring, the course had taken a beating over the winter. The conditions have much improved, especially the greens. The reopening of the on-site restaurant was a nice surprise for after the round.
