Great course
Everything was in great shape. Very well cared for course. The only downside was that we were a walking pair and were partnered with a riding couple. If we were the riders we would not have been happy to keep the slower pace with the walkers. They did leave us at the turn. Still it was a great round of golf on a lovely course
Surprisingly challenging
Narrow fairways and thick rough. Controlled, safe drives required for most holes. Greens are small and firm.Tough course, but I am bad at golf.
A new look at Goodrich
Recent renovations lead me to play this track again and there were some good and bad changes. The -&10 switch I give a thumbs down after playing the new #1 you get a narrow fairway with a big waterhole to drown your round before it starts. Green is super tree guarded as well. Greens were fast but you get used to them. Rough was too long - but on the plus side we found 10 balls mired in the long grass where people couldn’t see them in the deep turf. Only lost one ourselves but we kept our balls in the mowed area most of the day. The clubhouse is well stocked but I am shell shocked when 4 beers cost almost as much as your round at a public course. The trees I remember from years ago are for the most part still standing. Turf A+ on the fairway. Need divot sand on the carts and par 3’s. The two consecutive par threes and short par 4 to finish is anti climactic - but 13,14 & 15 are still good challenge holes. Heavy rain the weeks before we played made conditions great, but mow the rough please.
Updated course is in great shape
The course has just recently reopened and is in great shape compared to prior years. Greens are still small as they had been in the past, which is fine, but they were in great shape and true to roll. Fairways are in great shape and the rough looking good as well.
Cart included?????
Our $37.00 round was suddenly going to cost $59 per person even having booked in advance. The attendant was arguing with another party when we arrived with the same issue. He finally relented and gave us a cart. We wouldn't have played if he Hadent relented.
goodrich review
Had not played at goodrich for mayber20 yr and found it to be in very nice shape for this time of year. we will come back again
Its a Golf Course
Fine course for the area. Little tight in spots and fairly straight with a some slight elevation mixed in. Was asked to speed it up a little on a busy Sunday yet finished at 4 hrs...? Little pricey for what it is. Greens are pretty small and rough isnt in the best shape in spots just city park like grass.
