October golf
This is the first time I got to play Peninsula and I was pleasantly surprised. It is a nine hole course, and many of the holes are straight from the box to the pin, with one or two dog legs scattered around the course. It took me 2 1/2 hours to play nine holes, but it was a beautiful day and the course is very easy to walk. I am a 7 handicap and I shot a 39. Very pleasant day overall!
A good 9.
Many 9 hole courses lack total yards and are not well maintained. Overall conditions were good other than a small deficiency of sand in the traps. Greens provide a fair challenge, fairways are wide and rough is forgiving. Perfect course for beginners to mid level players. Also, easy to walk, even for a 50 year old.
Grumpy old man for a ranger
Played a very slow round considering how backed up this course is because the greedy owners try to fit tee times like sardines in a can. Every hole is backed up, and the old grumpy ranger is telling us to pick up our balls on the 9th green while I’m putting for birdie. If you wanted to be home before it gets dark out, maybe you shouldn’t be closing a golf course. And the last time I played here this old grumpy sack of feces was bothering the group in front of me for no good reason. Definitely don’t waste your money and go play bethpage 10 min away for $10 less.
