SLOW BUMPY FUZZY GREENS.

Can't figure out why they don't cut the greens.

Everyone complains about the SLOW BUMPY FUZZY GREENS.

Stimp meter readings should be 8.5 to 10.5 for public courses and 11 for typical PGA Tour events, with major championship greens reaching 11.5 to 13.

Here they run about 5-7. Unacceptable!.

The bunkers need more sand in them too.

Greens are better now then the past 7 years...

Finally a little quicker. Almost good speed.

They need more sand in bunkers.

I’ve stayed away from Crab Meadow for years because I was told the conditions weren’t great, but I was pleasantly surprised. First, you can tell they put a ton of work into the bunkers and the sand in there was nicer then most public courses. Second, the greens which are “the issue” were in good shape and not as slow as people say. The gnats were really bad on the range but that really is out of their control. The only real issue I had was the generic golf pencil. I know it’s stupid but I love collecting pencils and for them to have Amazon pencils is frustrating. Can’t cost that much to have pencils with the course name but I digress

For the routing I think it’s a fun course. From the whites it’s not long but it is narrow. I had a few good drives that ended up in the rough even though I hit them pretty straight. The par 5 8th has a ton of danger and many greens out there are postage stamps. I think 10-12 is the toughest stretch of holes on the course. I’ll have to go back to really remember the rest but I definitely enjoyed myself

Love this course. It’s a good challenge. Greens were a little rough, but it is winter. Have played during the season and always enjoy!!!

First time player on this course - quite windy as it’s next to the LI Sound. Interesting and challenging course for high handicap players with several makable par 3’s and several nearly impossible to single bogey par 4’s.

Views are spectacular from many of the holes and would love to play the course in the summer. Will definitely return in spite of the tortuous route getting there from Nassau County.

Very nice course in very good condition. Pace of play was ok. Nice layout with small greens which most were in good shape. Staff was very friendly. I recommend this course and will play again.
