First, the course was in great shape, enjoyable to play, and the food and beverages at the end of the round were outstanding. However, as first time players, we found navigation somewhat difficult and at times frustrating. There were very few signs, and neither the card nor the tee box offered any guidance on hole layout or topography. Help!
Fantastic course
Course is in great shape fairway and green where spotless , true and manicured
Vacation golf
The course was a fun little gem. A good mix of long and short holes. Very friendly staff. I would play here again when we come up to Cayuga Lake for a vacation.
Back
Played the course years ago. Front 9 is very doable. Back 9 is tougher. Some holes you cannot see the pin. Overall a good course. Will return.
Friendly staff, slow Pace of play
The staff was very friendly. It was a pleasure to golf at their facility. If it wasn’t for the five-some of high handicappers in front of me that held things up with a bottle neck behind them, it would’ve been a five star day.
Beautiful / scenic course. A little wet right now.
Being next to Seneca Lake, you get some very scenic views, especially approaching hole 9. Course is kept up very well, cut wise.
I recommend you stay in the fairways as anything outside of them is very wet and I was getting under a lot of shots. The rough is a lot thicker than you think and strokes can get away from you in a hurry.
The pro shop and shop manager were very nice.
The two things I wish the course had:
Being my first time on the course, I only viewed an overhead photo online. Both the score cards and the holes do not have preview of the holes. The golf cart also did not have a course map in it. It only had a scan code for the food at the turn. There is a 90 degree right turn on one of the holes. I didn’t know it until I luckily placed my shot on the turn, itself and evaluated it when I got to my shot. Finally, I didn’t see any port-a-potties or bathrooms on the course besides the pro-shop. I could just see this putting some golfers in a peculiar positions. Maybe they will get more out there as the season progresses? I did play in May so I don’t know.
I will go back. See what it looks like mid summer when it should be dryer.
Quick greens.
Beautiful Course - great greens
It was wet and cold spring golf, but the greens were meticulous and rolled wonderfully. The fairways and roughs were cut nicely despite the wet. Traps were raked - not your soft white sand, but decent. Nice layout, friendly staff, nice views of the lake on a couple of holes.
Geez,,,,
The most giant aeration holes on greens in the whole world. Could be a fun course to play if the greens were playable, however on this day they were not. An aeration notification prior to booking this tee time would have been nice. Staff member sarcastically asked how the greens were when I completed my round, which was an indication that they were well aware of the unplayable conditions. Wish I had pictures to share of these yucky gaping holes in their greens.
Pleasure to play.. Greens in great shape and fast.
Will play again
A lot of holes are similar, straight forward and flat but in nice condition. Back nine a bit more challenging with more character. Greens are true and well maintained .
Must play!
Seneca Falls CC is a must play course! It has some challenging but fun holes and the Green's are fast but true. We enjoy playing there and stopping for lunch on the lakeside aftewards!
