Beautiful / scenic course. A little wet right now.
Being next to Seneca Lake, you get some very scenic views, especially approaching hole 9. Course is kept up very well, cut wise.
I recommend you stay in the fairways as anything outside of them is very wet and I was getting under a lot of shots. The rough is a lot thicker than you think and strokes can get away from you in a hurry.
The pro shop and shop manager were very nice.
The two things I wish the course had:
Being my first time on the course, I only viewed an overhead photo online. Both the score cards and the holes do not have preview of the holes. The golf cart also did not have a course map in it. It only had a scan code for the food at the turn. There is a 90 degree right turn on one of the holes. I didn’t know it until I luckily placed my shot on the turn, itself and evaluated it when I got to my shot. Finally, I didn’t see any port-a-potties or bathrooms on the course besides the pro-shop. I could just see this putting some golfers in a peculiar positions. Maybe they will get more out there as the season progresses? I did play in May so I don’t know.
I will go back. See what it looks like mid summer when it should be dryer.
Quick greens.
Beautiful Course - great greens
It was wet and cold spring golf, but the greens were meticulous and rolled wonderfully. The fairways and roughs were cut nicely despite the wet. Traps were raked - not your soft white sand, but decent. Nice layout, friendly staff, nice views of the lake on a couple of holes.
Geez,,,,
The most giant aeration holes on greens in the whole world. Could be a fun course to play if the greens were playable, however on this day they were not. An aeration notification prior to booking this tee time would have been nice. Staff member sarcastically asked how the greens were when I completed my round, which was an indication that they were well aware of the unplayable conditions. Wish I had pictures to share of these yucky gaping holes in their greens.
Pleasure to play.. Greens in great shape and fast.
Will play again
A lot of holes are similar, straight forward and flat but in nice condition. Back nine a bit more challenging with more character. Greens are true and well maintained .
Must play!
Seneca Falls CC is a must play course! It has some challenging but fun holes and the Green's are fast but true. We enjoy playing there and stopping for lunch on the lakeside aftewards!
BOLD
At 78 played the back 6400yds 4 long par 4 BUT A GREAT FUN COURSE
The course is very nice!!
A few holes on the back nine are very challenging. Overall it’s a great course w beautiful views of Cayuga Lake.
Hope to play there when it dries out
First time playing SFCC . Drove an hour to check out this course. Apparently they had a bunch of rain the day before that we did not have at home . So the course was wet, and some of the rough needed to be cut , but was not able to be done. The spring around here has been awful, lots of rain so it certainly was not the fault of the course. The pro shop was friendly , and apologized about the conditions. Hope to give the course another go if, and when things around here dry out. Pace of play was great.
Seneca Falls Country Club - Exactly As Advertised
The course website mentions that it is playable for the beginner and offers a challenge to the lower handicap, and that is exactly what I found. I cannot wait to get back out and play this course for a second time, now that I have seen a few of the blind shots.
The staff in the pro shop were very welcoming and helpful. I really like the SFCC logo, so I also picked up some cool merch.
Maybe
I did click "yes" regarding recommending the course to a friends, but with reservations.... Course was OK, nothing great. Had really only a few holes that were interesting. Most were straight, driving range style. Fairways were mediocre, but the tee boxes and greens were in good shape. There are two other courses nearby. Don't know that I would play here again for the $35.00 each.
