Nicely maintained greens, poor pace of play
First timer at Maple Moor. Played on a Saturday afternoon towards end of season. Course was well maintained besides leaves on a couple greens but that is called for. I was disappointed by the pace of play, it took 3 hours to play 9 holes and had to leave after the front 9, although we paid for 18

Wonderful course
Maple Moor is another wonderful and scenic Westchester course. The course is challenging enough for all levels of play and extremely well kept. Playing this late in the season, you would expect an abundance of leaves. We found the fairways to be clear and really enjoyable to play on. Will definitely be back next season.

Much nicer than I remembered
I used to play this course as a teen over 30 years ago. This was my first time back and I was pleasantly surprised. The course was in good condition and the greens were faster than expected. I live the GPS carts that give you yardage, etc. It was an overcast day, threatening rain so it wasn’t crowded. We finished 18 holes in about 4 hrs 20 min, and we let a single and a twosome play through. We ate at the restaurant after and the burgers, calamari and pizza we had were very good.

Unbelievably Slow
Played with a buddy of mine on an off-season Friday afternoon. 3 hours later we made it through 9 holes. Rangers were driving around but didn't seem to want to do anything about pace of play, even with 4 groups on the same hole. If you want to get 18 in, start early and be prepared to wait on every single shot.

Enjoy playing here
The course is always kept in good conditions. It is a great public course with challenging fairways and greens. Weekend pace can be slow sometimes, but never over 4 and half hours. Friendly staff and the course has a great driving range. Just love going here …

Aeration
This course when in shape is good to play. Everything is aerated. Greens and fairways. And when they aerated the fairways they left the dirt plugs everywhere. Very poor conditions right now May be playable next year. They need to do maintenance on this course and have the upkeep that Saxon does.

Fun track
Been playing Maple Moor for 20+ years regularly.
Overall it's a fun layout. You have to accept that fact that you're playing a county-owned public golf course. Viewed through that lens, it's a great place to play. It's relatively inexpensive, fairly easy to get a tee time, and it's strength is its layout.
There are challenging holes (#2, #5, #9, #10, #15 and #18) that require accuracy and some length to make a par. There are a few shorter holes that balance things out (#3, #6, #8, #11, #12, #13) that give you an opportunity to make up some strokes.
12 is a short par 5 where it's possible to get on in 2, followed by 13 which is a driveable par 4 for long hitters.
The course is very walkable which is a benefit to those of us who enjoy that kind of thing.
Now for the downsides:
>Pace of play can be a problem particularly on weekend afternoons. Sadly, the rangers don't do much to move people along.
>Conditions are good, not great. Since it's a county course, you'll find imperfections in the fairways at times, it tends to get a little burned out toward the end of the summer, and the greens are pretty slow.
But overall, it's a fun layout with a good mix of risk/reward opportunities, and a solid balance of difficultly between holes.
One recommendation: bring back the water coolers on a couple of the tees.
There's NO reason to NOT do this. Covid is no longer the threat that it was, and there's a much bigger threat of somebody keeling over in the hot summer months if there's no water.
Particularly true for those of us who walk. I can't carry a gallon jug of water with me, but being able to top off a water bottle occasionally would be tremendously helpful.

I had the feeling, the only wants to make money without actually giving service!!!
he didn't want to accept my Reservation because it was too late!!! after a lot of research and 15 minutes they were forced to accept it. After that I had to pay more for the cart, also 15 Dollar so that my wife could accompany me and that to play 10 holes on a catastrophic place where the greens are aerated (without the clubhouse telling me). Departures and faarways with divot holes everywhere peetchmark unraised. there are no good reasons for rejoicing...
