Saxon Woods Golf Course

The problem was finding the pro shop, it's back by the starter, the main building is where the bathrooms and restaurant are. The people are friendly, confirmed my tee time and got me a cart. The course plays well, but the greens are mostly small and challenging. The driving range unusually shoots across the tenth hole, with a warning siren to alert them.

First time playing this course and I’m afraid this will be my last.

Where do I start???!!! First, they ran out of carts. Waited on the first tee for a cart for about 20 minutes. Once we got the carts, this where the fun began. The layout wasn’t bad with a lot of blind shots and little bit of hills. Waited forever after every shot. Seemed like the whole Westchester seniors came out to play today. I shouldn’t have to wait after every shot on a Wednesday afternoon. Slower than some public courses on weekends. On one of the hole, there were 3 groups waiting on the tee. Conditions were so sos at best. Fairways were like first cut of rough and greens had different speed on every green. Form slow to slower. Totally not worth $65 for a weekday afternoon round.

All good. Course conditions etc.,l even very soapy ball washers, which is quite unusual.But,

No where on the course to refill a water bottle.

It ought to be a law !

Love to play this course. Playing with my sons who are playing for first season. It offers great variety of holes and easy play style.

Saxon ia always fun. Greens and bunkers are in excellent shape for this point in the season. Pace of play was slow and not a ranger to be found. GPS on my cart did not work,

We started our course approximately 45 minutes after our tee time was scheduled and were unable to finish the round. The starter seemed very overwhelmed and stated that there were no carts currently available at all ~30 min before tee time. By the time we finally teed off we were way backed up with some very slow/ novice groups in front of us that added to the frustration. Add to that the driving range is really odd layout and we won't be heading back to this course any time soon.

Third week in a row the traps either are filled to the brim or have no sand. The greens haven’t been cut or rolled in close to a week. Greenskeeper must still be on vacation.

Used to be well cared for. Currently the greens are not rolled regularly. Might as well chip instead of putt to reach a hole. Sand traps either have too much sand or none at all. Greens keeper must have taken the summer off.
