Sprain Lake Golf Course

As always I love playing this course. But the pro shop loves to make up rules that make no sense. I played by myself so naturally I got paired with two other singles and that’s fine but they made me and a stranger ride in the same cart saying they won’t let single riders out. I didn’t want to start an argument before my round so I let it be but I have played here many times by myself riding and they never did to me before also it was a 330 tee time and plenty of carts were available to take out so idk what was up with that but it got me kind of annoyed because I have never heard of this anywhere else and see single riders at every other Westchester course with no issue also for as much as I spent $70 for a full 18 and just barely got it in before 8 the pace of play here needs to severely improve.

Staff are great and the course has a good medium challenge layout. Even though they do what they can with slow play, it’s a real problem currently. People not understanding etiquette and with public courses you have to deal with players who are not yet skilled enough to play a course, which seems to be the main reason for slow play.

The course is well maintained. The Staff is awesome! My Favorite Westchester County course.

The county need sot provide WATER on their courses!

This was my first experience playing a round of golf at sprain lake. I had an amazing time. The views were incredible, the pace of play was great and the condition of the course was phenomenal. I cannot wait to tee up again at sprain lake in the near future.

A course that offers a lot of dimensions. Something for all levels of players. Staff in and out was excellent! I highly recommend!

A little humid otherwise a great day on the course !

Genuine waste of time and money coming to this place. The staff here is everything you do not want to see in a golf course in 2023. Old, angry, rude men that do not care one bit about your enjoyment of the course. They would rather not one person show up to play their course. I’ve been an avid golfer for years and every so often you run into a management like this. Do not give this place ur money and pray that they go out of business. Hire some younger people that want to interact with humans and maybe I’d come back.

DO NOT PLAY HERE!!! The rudest staff you could ever imagine. They didn’t close the course during severe lightening and thunder and instead told us to play at our own risk. After waiting two hours for the torrential downpour to stop, they then advised us the course was closed. They wanted everyone to leave so they didn’t have to give rain checks… you could’ve literally swam in the fairway. Worst golf experience I’ve ever had, and most negligence I’ve seen from a course in my experienced career. Management is brutal, I really don’t know how they are still operating.

This place is managed horribly. We were allowed to start our round while it was raining and lightning. We decided to go into the clubhouse for our own safety… however they pretty much said they don’t care about our safety. After waiting for a hour the downpour had lightened up. We decided we should try to pick up where we left off (the 2nd hole). They then proceeded to say the course is closed because of weather conditions but refuse to give any golfers a rain check. I think this place is managed by grumpy old men and the head of the club is a hamster rolling around in a ball. Will never be coming back and am severely disappointed in my experience at this lousy, crook ran establishment.

The workers here give you attitude right away and in general made the experience even worse (you’d think they’d be working for a tip).
