My playing partner. 80 years old and still nailing his drives! Photo submitted by JettSpot on 07/11/2017
Great course, slow play
Played holes 6 thru 18 with 3 groups on each hole. Course has a great layout and was in excellent shape.
Beautiful Course
Course was in great condition, greens were very fast. Cons - Mandatory Caddy, course layout.
Crazy layout and markings
Drove to usual check in point but told it had changed (without road markings) and was back near the entrance, time wasted. Parked car 10 minute walk away, time wasted. Waited for cart to take us to pro shop, time wasted. Waited for cart to practice range, time wasted. No markings showing how to go from hole to hole. You absolutely must have a caddie. Drive from one of the holes to the next took 7 minutes, time wasted. Finished game, waited for cart to take us back to new checkin point then took 10 minutes to drive there in cart, time wasted. Got out of cart with clubs and walked to parking, 10 minutes, more time wasted. Crazy layout and organization. They need professional help!! Super frustrating and a LOT OF TIME WASTED.
Nice course
Had lots of fun playing these two Vidanta courses. The Nayar course was shorter but challenging. Thoroughly enjoyed playing it. My forecaddy was helpful.
Great course, first rate service our caddy Polo always with excellent advice. Truly a great part of our vacation.
Your description of the course was misleading. It says it is par 70 whereas the Norman course is par 73. Wasn’t 100% sure we were booked for the Norman course. The other course, Nayarit, is par 70, thus the course confusion. Ultimately we were booked for the Norman course so all good.
Poor Signage
Finding your way around the course was difficult. The signage was horrible forgetting from #5 to #6. Also, from getting from #8 to #9. The worst part was getting from from front nine to the back nine. We lost 45 minutes of driving around looking to find our way around.
Unfriendly staff
My wife and I have played your course many times and even stayed at your resort. We met at the front gate by a very nice young lady and checking in at the pro shop another very nice young lady!
Unfortunately after that was not a good experience.
After coming outside to get our car neither of the 3 men offered to help us until I told them we were playing the Nayar course.
The 1 guy finally came over and asked which clubs were ours and after telling him which clubs were ours he asked me again when there were only 2 sets sitting being us. I got frustrated and started to load my own when he sprang into action and grabbed my wife’s clubs. After the clubs were loaded my wife nicely asked them where to go and they just shrugged and left us sitting there. A nice upping man driving people somewhere on the resort told us to follow him and took us to our destination. As for the other 3 persons, I’m sure they were way too busy talking to each other to care! We got a very nice caddy by the name of Raul who was a pleasure for our foursome!
We will return and play again but if we are treated like that again I will be directly contacting management!
When we stayed at your resort and played we were treated much better than the second hand citizens you treated us that day as visitors!
I hope you are able to better your staff and operation to treat everybody as equals! This could be construed as discrimination as we were just day users and not paying guests!
Thank You
A good challenge
I played the Nicklaus Course twice during my stay in Puerto Vallarta. Stunning views! More than a few times I had to hit over gullies and canyons. I couldn't imagine how hard that would be from the back tees. The greens were large for the most part and the bunkers quite deep.
Great Experience, NO delays
Booking thru Golfnow was a much better deal, almost too good to be true. Golfnow was $75US when we booked and the course quoted $275US plus they said we could only book thru them, not true.
We had to rent golf clubs ( $75US ) and my brother was left handed, which was not an issue, I did email a week ahead of time to reserve the clubs.
Because of what I had read from other reviews, we did show up 2 hours early BUT had no time issues. We were able to get to the range for 30 mins and then end up teeing off earlier than expected.
Our caddie Paulo was excellent, definitely added to the over all experience. The greens were faster than I was used to ( although they were recently sanded) and ALTO!! ALTO!!! ( stop, stop ) was the phrase I hear most often as my ball speed by the hole. Navigating around the facilities without a caddie would have been a nightmare.
Overall experience was excellent and booking thru Golfnow saved us MUCHO DINERO.
Good course. No wow factor.
Played many times here. The course is in good condition except the greens seem to have been punched few weeks ago and hasn't fully recovered. A must play in Puerto Vallarta.
Nice course
Some crazy travel.between some holes but it was enjoyable to play and worth the money. Blue tees play short but still a challenge.
