My playing partner. 80 years old and still nailing his drives! Photo submitted by JettSpot on 07/11/2017
Least the greens are good
We got a cab to the front gates and arrived a hour before our tee time. They made us wait at the concierge for an hour & then sent us to the range to wait for a caddie. They said a caddie was necessary to play the Norman course. We were then sent on the course an hour after our tee time was supposed to be and told us a caddie would join us in ten minutes. A caddie never showed up despite being told he would show up on the third hole. They sent us out on a different course than we paid for. After finding the Norman course on our own the golf was decent and course was in mediocre shape the greens were the highlight. The pace was horrible and our caddie never showed up. It’s worth playing once but if you aren’t staying at the resort it’s a horrible experience until you actually get on the courses I suggest showing up a hour and a half early.
Easy and flat
We were required (no choice) to take a caddy although we had a golfcar
Layout of the course was strange, some holes were kilometers apart
Play were slow
Greens were good
Sand were difficult (compact)
Generally enjoy the round and the nice weather
Nice, challenging par 3 course
A lot of water makes this a fun and challenging par 3 course. You have to carry your clubs as there are no carts. Layout involves some backtracking. Course is in walking distance of pro shop.
Golf was great, experience could be better
golf and course were great, no complaints there but we got there an hour before our tee time and barely had time to warm up and make it to the tee on time because of Vidanta's resort layout and shuttle system. you get dropped off at a shuttle depot, have to wait for a shuttle to the pro shop which took about 15 min. then wait in line at the pro shop which covers 3 courses. Then take a 10 min ride to range, hit a few balls, then take cart another 8 or so minutes to the 1st tee. then after the round it's a 10 min shuttle back to the clubhouse to return the carts and a 10 min shuttle back to the depot to get picked up. course and resort are beautiful but don't plan on getting in and out quickly.
Poorly marked
It’s difficult to get around without the caddy the route is very poorly signposted.
Superb!
Unlike last week, Green was just perfect. Almost ready for the Mexican open in two months. I will definitely come back and recommend the course to my friends. Staffa were so nice. There was a floor in the gem, Some caddies Are not ready to serve your players. Otherwise, I had a great day.
Not worth the time
The course itself is pretty and the conditions of the course are good. But when we initially booked, we were booking for 18 holes only to learn it’s only 10 holes. The holes are themselves very very short. Can’t even even considered a real par three course. The cost to play this was way too expensive, this should be a 10 or $15 course for maybe kids to play on or learn. In addition, the staff were anything but friendly. We did not stay at the hotel. We just wanted to use the golf course and they would not allow us to use their Wi-Fi to call an Uber.
Really a waste of our time and money
Excellent Course
Very fun course to play. It was in excellent condition. Played in 4 hours. Perfect day.
Caddies were fantastic and much needed
Good course but very poorly routed. It would be just about impossible to get around the course without a caddie.
I think it is an interesting play as the layout and grass changes fron front to back. The back nine was fun, fast and tight. The front had some great holes but the amount of driving around between some holes is close to ridiculous. Anyways, the caddies made it an enjoyable ride.
Can't stress how much fun I had on course with the caddies, both on this course and the Norman coures. My experience will be different than most because I played solo and had my own caddie but it was blast and I am looking forward to coming back
Caddies are awesome
Played both the Norman and Nicklaus courses, at Vidanta recently. Both are in great shape. Norman is a little sandy but that is to be expected as they prepare for their PGA event in February, but it played fantastic. I played afternoon rounds, by myself, taking advantage of the Golf Now, Hot Deal pricing. Rounds with their caddies were a blast. Played fast relaxing golf with lots of good banter and some great tips as well. The absolute high point of my trip.
