Morning view down the Par-5 5th fairway. A strong drive, especially to the center-right fairway, sets you up to go for the green in two! Photo submitted by vmustang on 04/25/2021

My Money
I canceled my tee time on golf now and I was still charged over $300 to my credit card. I payed for a round of golf I didn’t even play!!!
San Marcos
Super slow pace of play. Almost 5 hours and waited on every tee, sometime 3 groups waiting. Greens were nice but the rest of the course was a little rough and def not worth the $100+ price tag.
Excellent value
This is a nice open course. Golfers should be aware of the channel that comes into play on a few of the holes. The lies in the fairways are tight requiring precise contact. The greens are fast and true. Overall, it’s a good test of golf.
Horrible staff and pace of play ruined it
My friend and I arrived at 1:40pm for a 2pm tee time. We checked in at the clubhouse where the desk worker came off as super unfriendly . I simply asked what their cheapest dozen was and he replied in a very annoyed way. We went to give cart assigners our receipt and one younger guy probably around 22-23 was making fun of my last name right in front of me… “That’s a he** of a last name haha” and I responded “That’s my name…” and he switches his energy and goes “oh that’s a cool last name then” yeah okay buddy, lol. We then went and warmed up on the green to start and headed over to the first tee around 1:57pm. The 3 groups ahead of us still hadn’t even teed off yet… we didn’t tee off until around 2:25pm. Group in front of us took forever to play. They had 3 different tee boxes in their group and they waited to tee off way too long every hole. They hit the ball maybe 250 max and were waiting until other group was 300+ out to hit every time. Overall the day was ruined by staff and pace of play. Course layout and conditions were actually very solid. But I value staff friendliness and pace of play a lot more. We only got to play 14 holes btw. 2:00pm tee time with a 5:50pm sunset. We couldn’t even finish in 3 hours and 50 minutes… so keep that in mind.
Very flat course with decent green complexes. Fairways were a little thin but greens and bunkers were good. Pace was very good, under 4 hrs. Staff were great. Would play again for right price
Fun course. Nice greens
Very flat, wide fairways, well maintained. Bunkers had decent sand. Greens rolled nicely. I enjoyed the round.
