Morning view down the Par-5 5th fairway. A strong drive, especially to the center-right fairway, sets you up to go for the green in two! Photo submitted by vmustang on 04/25/2021

San Marcos
Very nice course for an intermediate golfer. Challenging holes and in very nice shape. Enjoyed it very much.
Disappointed
I was disappointed with this course. The course was in just fair shape (lots of bare spots). The pace of play was slow- 4.5 hours for 18). I was challenged by the abundance of bunkers that guarded the greens. In 18 holes, I visited 8 traps. The greens looked spotty but they rolled well with a decent amount of breaks.
Much improved
As always, the staff are pleasant and welcoming. And, unless I am mistaken, there has been a change in the course maintenance staff. Compared to last year at this same time of year, the course is well watered and fairways are very playable. In short, the course was in fine condition and thoroughly enjoyable to play.
Well done, San Marcos!
Enjoy old school course
Great course. Always enjoy playing here. Everyone is so friendly. We will be back
Course was nice. Its feb and wm phoenix open so rate is higher. Course had good grass. Oly setback was they let a 6 some go off so it backed up.
pleasant surprise!
great course in middle of downtown! plays tight, its a revamped old stule course. loads of fun! hrest day.
What happened to the fairways?
Played here a number of times and the course had always been in great shape. Not sure what happened but now the fairways are bad, all dries out, lots of dead spots, etc. Hoping this is an aberration and they will be getting it back shape.
Historic course with small greens.
No range always hurts.
Other than that course in good shape.
Being as old as it is the greens are very tiny and presents a real challenge when it comes to approach shots.
