Always a great venue
Weiskopf and moorish designed this to be user friendly for the average joe yet a challenge for the serious low handicap golfer. One of my favorites is all of the US
Course was in great shape.
The course was in very good condition but I found the staff to be less than friendly. The young man that took us to the first tee had little to say and the Marshall made a point of telling us to "pick up the pace" even though my group was less than 15 minutes behind. There was no one behind us and we were the first group off the tee on a day with light rain most of the day.
best in all aspects
You would never know that this course was being played
in the smmer,as the fairway grass was like velvet and the
greens with rare exceptions were pristine.
Incredible sceenery
Amazing golf course, trully oustanding maintenance of the greens and the fairways; challenging back 9 in Monument. Highly recommended
Course was in great condition, challenging but a joy to play
Can't say enough positive things about the course - the greens and fairways were in great condition and the views spectacular. Only minor comment was boy at bag drop was surly - other staff were great.
beautiful views
The Monument course was fair and interesting with tremendous views of various valleys.
Troon North
If you know Troon courses then you know there sigature course was pristine in condition. greens were in great shape, rolled fast and true. fairways are tight so be prepared off the tee.
A gem in the desert
Troon offers one of the best courses in the Scottsdale area. Greens are receptive but quick, even for the summer in three digits temperature. Awesome views and facilities. Played Monument but I will definitely come back for Pinnacle.
Troon North rocks
$69 on 4th of July was a nice deal. The course is in immaculate condition.
Fantastic views and course.
Troon North is my favorite course in the Valley. Being elevated it's always cooler than Phoenix and always has a comfortable breeze. Course conditions are always pristine. It's desert golf so if you're have a bad day off the tee, bring a LOT of golf balls. But the combination of view, course, and weather can't be beat.
awesome views and a good test of golf skills
every hole was a reward and a treat. the level of difficulty was welcome to this golfer.
The Mountain course is absolutely an awesome but rewarding challenge.
I was very well pleased with this course. It is a greater challenge than many courses that I have played yet very rewarding.
Most scenic desert course, every hole memorable.
From #1 to #18, beautiful looking desert course in excellent condition even tho greens were punched 3 wks earlier. Fairways in great shape, a really pretty golf course. Play it back and you'll have all the challenge you can take. Play it up and its most enjoyable even in the summer heat (109).
Beautiful course in great condition. People need to learn how to repair ball marks..
The course played very well. The greens were a bit beat up as there were a ton of ball marks. Would recommend this course!
Epic scenery on a beautiful golf course
Troon north golf club is the standard at which desert golf is graded. Everything about the place is perfect. Since it was in the later stages of the afternoon, the staff offered to let us play our choice of Monument or Pinnacle. So they basically gave us the option of either playing the #1 or #3 nicest course in Arizona. Either way we were in for a treat, but we chose Monument because we had never played it before.
The course itself was beautifully manicured, the fairways and the rough were filled with lush green grass. The bunkers were fair and had lots of sand in them. The greens were a little slow, but that only helped my game as they were very undulated and sometimes tricky to read. My only complaint would be that the greens were a little on the bumpy side, but that is to be expected this late in the year.
My girlfriend loved the wild life that lives on the course. there are lots of bunnies watching you tee off as they nibble on grass. We encountered a large gila monster perched on top of a rock, but he was way to quick and ran off before I was able to snap a picture of him.
Was looking forward to playing this course
Mos t of my group had not played this course before, but we had heard wonderful things about it. None of us were disappointed in Troon North Monument. I have played courses all over the US and would say this is without a doubt one of nicest I have ever played. The condition was pristine. The layout was outstanding. I loved the wide choice of tee boxes to hit from. We played the gold tees and had a great mixture of long and short holes. The views of area mountains was cool (several elevated tee boxes). Can't wait to play the other course at Troon North in a few weeks.
Troon North in June
Always a great course to play when the rates come down.
Always a fun challenge at the Pinnacle Course
Headed out for an afternoon round on the Pinnacle Course. It had been about a year since my last visit and as always it does not disappoint.
Conditions were very good all through the entire course and the greens rolled fantastic.
Play was fast until we made the turn. As we were only a two some the ranger should have had the group in front of us let us pass. They seemed oblivious to our existence even after I brought a club to them that they had left. O well no biggie.
Always fun!
Pinnacle in great shape.. Monument just aerated.. be sure & check..
dry greens
Overall, real nice course has a good mix of both difficult and easy holes
