Still A Great Day of Golf
We really enjoyed the course. The views and scenery were spectacular. Our only complaint was there were too many distractions with grounds crews out mowing and completing maintenance on what seemed to be quite a few holes. The service in the Grille after our round was very slow, but we overheard them say they were short a staff member that afternoon.
A disappointment
I had always looked forward to playing Troon for a few years now and got an excellent price from Golfnow. I'm glad I didn't pay more and it is certainly not worth the premium prices usually charged, I played the Monument course. The front nine was pretty generic as far as courses go in addition to being closely surrounded by generic condos. I'll have to say the back nine was stunning though and what I expected the entire course to be like. One of the greens on the back nine was bumpy like cottage cheese. I'm glad I finally played the course but would not go back unless I found another terrric deal on GN.com. Pace of play was fine although we never did see a marshall.
Great Course and Scenery
A must play when in Scottsdale.....We will come back
Great
Played pinnacle was one of the most enjoyable beautiful courses I have played in arizona
Topnotch and classy.
If you want a truly wonderful and memorable golfing experience, just play here !!!
Course was in great condition
Course was in great condition and the vistas are simply spectacular. The staff was superb
Great Track
This is a delightful course with fabulous views and is surrounded by beautiful properties.
The day we played the staff indicated that they were busy and wanted to keep play moving. While we were not burning up the course, the ranger somewhat bruskly told us we were up to 5 minutes behind. There were no groups behind or ahead of us that were impacted byour pace - it was a little off-putting. Once we picked up the time a few holes later, he became friendly and took our photo... Restaurant staff were terrific.
Overall, one of the favourite courses we played in AZ
I don't know if a golf course can get any nicer than this one, top notch
Had a blast, this is one of the nicest courses I've ever played and wouldn't have played without such a great price from golf now.
Absolutely Beautiful!
I've played many high end courses in North America and Ireland and this course ranks among the best.
top 5 courses in AZ
Realy great course, great conditions and a challenging course
Troon North was probably the most beautiful course I've played in the last 10 yrs. The course condition was spectacular and each hole unique. Awesome
If you ever get the opportunity to play Troon North, don't pass it up! Incredible course with indescribable natural beauty.
Excellent course, but pace of play slow on back nine
A great lay out, beautiful vistas, greens roll true, straight tee shot a must. During overseeing time, fee is very pricey for cart path only.
nice course
Nice course, narrow fairways, good layout, but slow play.
Always a good experience
First time to play Troon in early October. Not quite as "green and plush" as winter months, but still in good condition. Always a "fair" test of golf game, with beautiful layout. Staff is always friendly and accommodating. Will be back, never get sick of playing here!
Played the Pinnacle. Way better course than Monument.
Pinnacle is a spectacular golf course and the perfect example of Arizona golf. Unique and challenging holes. Can use driver on all par fours and fives with generous landing areas and don't have to worry about houses as they are set back far enough.
Less than perfect
We have played Troon North-Pinnacle several times and usually found it to be in pristine condition. This year we found the greens to be quite spotty and, unfortunately, the holes were frequently located at the worst part of the green.
As single digit handicappers paying a premium price we expected better. On the same trip we played Grayhawk-Raptor, WeKoPa-Saguaro, Golf Club of Scottsdale, and Boulders-South and we found all of them to be in superior condition to Troon North-Pinnacle.
We always make our trip to Scottsdale in late September and are familiar with the unpredictability of over-seeding, but this year the conditions, and course "set-up", at Troon North-Pinnacle were worse than usual.
On a positive note, the pace of play was excellent. We had a 7:30 am tee time and were off of the course a few minutes after 11am.
troon north
great views and layout, course was in great condition
Excellent condition, but should be for the price.
Pinnacle Course. I did not play my best here. No starter on the first hole to help guide you through the round. Did not know the pin placement until we figured it out on our own. It was a 7:30 tee time and there was a tournament about to start. Maybe the attention of staff was there.
Good hole variety
Great price through Golfnow. Good hole variety and excellent conditions. Had a great breakfast (reasonable) and were treated very well by staff.
Tough course
If you're not on your A or B game it will be a tough slog. As with most Troon courses, the condition was excellent, the traps were perfect as were the greens. What you need is a layout by hole, as there are some desert transitions in the middle of fairways that are looking for golf balls.
