All You'd Ever Want!
From start to finish, Troon North was all you'd ever want in a golf resort. The facilities and staff are first class. From the bag drop to the 19th hole we were treated like valued guests.
The golf course was in fabulous shape from tee to green. We found ourselves taking pictures from almost every hole, there was so much to see. The vistas and the property were some of the prettiest we've seen. Don't miss the opportunity to play Troon North, you won't be disappointed!
Great course spoiled by the large number of houses surrounding the holes
From the moment we arrived it was a seamless and pleasant experience.
Staff are well drilled in customer service and run a slick operation.
The course was challenging without being too hard.
It was fair even when taking the occasional trip off in to the desert! I even played my ball out twice when missing the fairway as I got a nice open lie.
The proximity of all the gorgeous homes lining the fairways does actually detract from the feeling of being in the desert as it is too built-up for my taste.
Bring your a game and you will score well as it rewards attacking play. I scored 40 stable ford points and played well under my handicap.
Not my favourite course in the area but definitely worth a return visit.
Cart Path only
It will be Cart Path only for at least another 5 weeks, which adds a lot of walking to the 18 holes resulting in a 5 1/2 hour round. Beautiful views on every hole.
Beautiful!
Pinnacle Course.
One of the most stunning golf courses I've played. The fairways are pretty narrow with homes very close. Great greens. Bunker sand not great. Very interesting course, visually and mentally. Will definitely play again.
Lives up to its reputation - and then some.
A wonderful experience from the moment we arrived. The staff was exceptional. They went out of their way to accommodate our needs. Our tee time was adjusted to allow for us to get in some practice on the range, even though we were late for our scheduled tee time. The course was amazing. The variety of tee placements makes this course playable by high handicapper as well as challenging for the low handicapper. The discount through golf Now made it possible for us to play a course that ordinarily would have been out of our price range. This course belongs on anyone's must-play list.
Did not exceed my expectations-
I'm a 2 handicapper and an "old school" golfer. This place is ridiculously expensive. I expected the course to be in great shape- it was. Golf attendants were super cool, the pro shop guys were not so much. Seems as if once they saw I reserved the tee time through golf now, I ft a shrug of the shoulders and a point to the direction of outside. I had called to make sure my time was open. They assured me it was. Got there and figured out I was behind a 35 person event! We decided to grab lunch and tee off later- they told me no problem. Came back, checked in again and drove to the range. Got to the range and was told the range closed 5 minutes ago. Ridiculous! Complained again and finally the pro saw what was happening and intervened. She was awesome. Blood pressure was through the roof at this point. They tossed down 20 balls and I said thank you. The course is awesome, seems very Disneylandy but fun. Turned nine holes and hit a parking lot. Every shot I had to wait. It was ridiculous - again. Called the pro shop and let them know, they had an attitude and said they can't gary ante anyone finishing even if you teed off at 2pm. They sent a ranger to speed up play. It helped a bit. Had to hear him complain about his 10 hour day. Boo for him! Finished, shot 76, had a headache a drove home. I paid $100 and had a hectic day. Got to the course at 11am for a noon tee time.didnt leave the course until 6:45. I CAN'T BELIEVE THEY DON'T HAVE GPS!!!!!!!!
Great course to impress company
From everything from the front of the place all the way to the 18th hole was top notch. Greens and fairways were fantastic. Definately fits the picture of a "high end course."
Typical Troon North-Great
What can you say great course and everybody knows that. They had just airreated the greens which knocked it down a notch but was the reason it was super affordable this time of year.
As always a great exp at Troon north
Course in great shape greens rolled true, didn't play to well but still enjoyed the round. They know how to take care of players, a first class experience as always. The number one thing they do is customer service, even on a hot Thursday afternoon.
Great views and excellent course conditions.
The course can't be beat at the summer rates. Great condition as usual. Pace of play was adequate. Staff is helpful and friendly.
Would recommend you play it before the rates go up,up,up..
Most challenging desert golf
Troon North is truly a masterpiece. It sets the standard for excellence in many areas. The course and surrounding desert landscape are in immaculate condition. There is so much desert beauty to enjoy and one creative hole layout after another. This course requires study of the yardage guide before each hole. Errant shots are dealt with severely and can cause your game to unwind, which may leave you with a bitter taste. If you succeed, you will certainly feel satisfied that you have conquered a most worthy opponent: the course itself.
Overrated
I played the Monument 18. Nice course, but overrated. We played at an inexpensive summer rate, but the rest of the year this course is not a good value. There are several other lesser known public courses in the area I think are better. .
The model for a perfect desert golf course
Beautiful course. Conditions were perfect. Greens rolled very well but were not too fast for quality play. Enjoyed the layout and scenery. Our pace of play was a little slow as were took so many pictures!
Great views. Beautiful scenery.
Depending on the tees you play from - the course has all the challenges you want. Course provides yardage cards that are absolutely needed if you haven't played there before. Summer rates are great. Winter rates are a little expensive for regular play.
One of the best public courses in the area, a must to play...
Course in super shape with added nature and scenic views. Put this on your list to courses to play.
You must play this course if you are in Scottsdale!!!!
Course is in very nice shape and the views and scenery are a great bonus to the golf. Played the next to back tees and it was fun and challenging.
Pin Placement need attention
Played Pinnacle course and admittedly we did not inquire as to pin placement location for the day. We deduced after the first 2 holes that it was pin position 3 by comparing to detailed yardage sheets provided by the course. After the first two holes however, the pin position was completely random, no ryhme or reason, nothing close from hole to hole. This was frustrating as the club selection on the rather large greens could have been up to 3 clubs hitting to the green.
The greens are rolling very nice. The views from the tee boxes are amazing as usual.
The course is very well maintained and exciting to play. A must play if your out of town. It blows away the TPC by a long shot.
Great condition, beatiful views, tough course.
I have wanted to play this course for several years. It met my expectations. The pace of play was slower than I like primarily because people in our group hit shots that were tough to find. Suggest playing from the silver tees.
Hard and challenging course.
This course is no slouch, especially form the black tees which is the one we played (maybe not such a great idea for me but not a problem for Cal from Montana, my companion for that day). The course is well maintained and offers very nice vistas. Mountain course outside of town but with residents at irregular intervals throughout. A good variety and sequence of challenges. Not a course for the high handicapper since a lot of targets are involved. I guess it depends on how much suffering one might enjoy... Full required practice areas.
