Summer pricing is a steal!
The course was in great shape from Tee box to Green. Greens were the same speed the whole 18 and not some being fast or some slow like courses can be sometimes. They are a difficult read sometimes but that’s the fun challenge. This course makes you play smart and if you do you can shoot good scores here. I hit a PR the first time I played! Highly recommend
Bad bunkers
Everything nice except for lack of sand in the bunkers.
Do not let this place take your money
Entire course is punched. No mention of greens or fairways being punched when they charge you $100 to play this course. If you like putting balls on the beach, the greens here have a similar feel. Bunkers are actually the same consistency as concrete. This could be a beautiful course, shame it’s in such terrible shape.
Great Course Layout
For a desert course it provides a nice variety of hole designs. The staff were great. We played at a time that few do in Phoenix this time of year so there wasn’t any pace of play issues. The tee boxes, rough, and greens were in great shape. On the front nine there were a number of spots on the fairways that had issues, dry or dead grass. I could see that the fairways were being worked on/aireated or something, I presume in an attempt to rectify the problem. Numerous times I chose to move my ball a number of yards away to find a decent patch of grass to hit off of. But overall, for the GolfNow price I paid it was well worth it.
Course is in poor shape
Fairways are beat up and hard. Sand traps are more like gravel pits.
Great layout
Great layout. Grass in fairways struggling but greens good. Totally enjoyable and priced right for Scottsdale.
Wonderful
Best greens I've played all year in AZ. Course was in incredible shape, little muddy in spots, but other than that it was pure! Bunkers we're the first bunkers I've hit out of in the last 3 months that weren't rocks. Definitely coming back to try Faldo! Palmer was very target golf. Lot of short holes that require iron off the tee, but super fun! 9/10
Great layout
Our GolfPass deal made this an excellent course to play for the money. The layout had excellent variety for a desert course. The greens and tees were in excellent condition. The fairways, mostly on the front nine, had multiple spots that were not in good condition. You could tell the greenskeeper was working on it but there were multiple times where I wished I was playing from the rough instead of the fairway.
Great staff at Wildfire
Ive played a lot of courses in the Valley but this was my first time playing Wildfire. I thought it was a very nice, resort style course but a couple things stood out. First, all the staff were really great. The starter was super friendly and the Marshall was awesome at trying to move things along and even escorting me around some groups as I was playing as a single. I never complained and didn’t ask, he just offered to help to try and make sure I had the best experience possible.
The course was in good shape but the greens were excellent and played very fast, much better than the other local courses I’ve been playing lately.
First time playing
I played the Faldo course a couple of weeks ago, and wanted to try the Palmer Course. I thought the Faldo course was interesting, but a lot of bunkers and target golf off the tees. The Palmer Course was narrower off the tee, but fewer fairway bunkers to deal with. Overall, I liked both courses and will add both into my rotation when I visit Scottsdale.
Nice Course
First time playing. Enjoyed the course. Lots of traps off the tee, so need to be accurate and strategic. Greens were fast and in good shape. Would definitely play again. Note: parking lot at the course has a gate to get in. Just pull up and take a ticket- get it validated in the pro shop. Lost 10 minutes figuring this one out!
Good choice and great vao
All good
Sand in traps not fluffy at all but greens are great as are tee boxes and fairways
Great Faldo Course
First time playing this course. Well maintained and beautiful layout. Lots and lots of bunkers. Took me awhile to figure out how to hit out of them. Different swing because sand is firmer than usual. Good pace of play and greens are in tip-top condition.
