Mountain Course
One of the best courses that I've ever played. I will be returning to this course on my next visit to Tucson!
Another Day in Paradise
Very clean, perfectly manicured, friendly staff. I hope to play this course again soon.
Thanks for the 5-star review, Lunarec! We hope to see you back at Ventana Canyon again soon.
Ventana Canyon - Canyon course
We played the course 3 weeks ago and fairways were hard and greens were very fast. Today everything was very slow. Not sure why. Good course. Very long distances between greens and tees in some cases. 1/2 mile between 9th green and 10th tee. Yes, you read that right. Only issue today was a detail that makes a lot of difference to older golfers and women. The bathrooms on the course are locked and there is a key on the cart. Well...the key did not open the bathroom door on the 6th hole. Very annoying. For a resort course, this should not happen, and it happened to us TWICE. Turns out we were in the same cart as 3 weeks ago, when we reported this problem to the staff after the round. Nothing was done to fix it.
Thanks for taking the time to leave us a review, we appreciate your honesty. We're looking into the bathroom key issue, you have our sincere thanks for bringing this to our attention. Thanks for coming out to Ventana Canyon, we hope to see you again soon!
Great course
The only issue is the difference in green speed between the two courses. Other than that, it was awesome.
Glad to hear you enjoyed your time at Ventana Canyon! Be sure to book another round with us soon.
John, thanks for the 5-star review and choosing The Lodge at Ventana Canyon! Join us again soon.
Beautiful Course, Crazy Layout
Two courses: members play one (today, Mountain Course), outside customers play other (today, Canyon Course). Not walkable, power cart required to negotiate extensive and circuitous layout. 5 tee choices, this playable by all skill levels, although forced carries may challenge some. Excellent conditions, with over seeded rough as well as fairways. Greens are superb.
Hi Peter, thanks for the great review! We're glad to hear you enjoyed your time with us. Be sure to book another round soon!

Great Little Saturday
We played Ventana Canyon Mountain course on a breezy Saturday in March. Impeccable condition as always. What a fantastic course. You owe it to yourself to play this course...
Thanks for the great feedback and 5-stars, Michael! We truly appreciate your support and are glad to hear you enjoyed your recent round with us at The Lodge at Ventana Canyon. Come back soon!
Thank you for your 5-star rating! Hope to see you again soon.

Beautiful course and fast greens
Played the Mountain course for first time, and had a great time. This is target golf with a lot of elevation changes. The course was in great shape, and the greens were very fast. I'm usually good for one three-putt every couple of rounds, and I had 4 on this day. It's not always clear where the next hole or tee box is, and without a regular in our foursome, we would have gotten lost more than once.. He even admitted that the course could be better marked. We had a great time and enjoyed the golf and views. FYI, there are coolers on the (brand new) carts, but no GPS.
Thanks for the great feedback and 5-stars! We truly appreciate your comments and are glad to hear you enjoyed your first round with us at The Lodge at Ventana Canyon. We appreciate your comments regarding our markers and GPS as well, as we are always working towards improvements. We hope to welcome you back again soon.
Ventana Canyon - Canyon course
Overall excellent golf experience. Course conditions were great. Pace of play was great, less than 4 hours. This course has the unusual feature that there are long distances between greens and next tee so it is completely unsuitable for walking. Sometimes this is a several minute golf cart ride across streets and through housing. Once you get accustomed to this it is no problem. The concrete cart paths are in excellent condition so carts can be driven at full speed. Because the course is laid out in a mountainous terrain it is necessary to place the holes where ever they will fit the surroundings.
Thanks for the great review, we're glad you enjoyed your round with us. Come see us again soon!
We appreciate you taking the time to leave us a review, however, we're very sorry to see that your recent round with us may not have met expectations. We hope we have the chance to welcome you back for a much-improved golf experience soon.
One of the best
First time playing here. Course conditions were impeccable. A little pricey but found a fair rate online. I would definitely recommend playing here. One of the best courses I have played!
Thanks for the 5-stars and amazing feedback on the course! We truly appreciate you choosing The Lodge at Ventana Canyon and hope to have you back again soon.
Nice track
Nice dessert course with some interesting holes and challenges. Not. Too difficult so a wide range of golfer with different skill levels can enjoy the course.
Thanks for the 5-stars and great feedback on the course! We truly appreciate you choosing The Lodge at Ventana Canyon and hope to have you back again soon.
Bad guest service
None of the employees have a personality, except the guy in the shop. Starter was clueless, didn't greet anyone - just kept looking at his clipboard. By the time I finally sued what time was next he had to figure out that he was supposed to send me out 2 groups ago...had to play the 1st hole by myself in front of another group so I could catch up to the group I was supposed to join in the first place. Greens were inconsistent and would only hold a short iron dropping from the sky. The player asst told us on the 11th hole that we were not allowed to have 3 carts on the fairway at the same time!? What!? At the end of the round, I think I woke up the guy at the cart return - then he goes to clean my clubs and I tell him they are already clean...he then questions me and says in will see if they are clean or not!? Really? I think I know when my clubs are clean... For that price and prestige - what a JOKE!!

Fun mountain course
The course is in spectacular condition and the views are wonderful. Finding our way around was a bit confusing, but we found all the holes.
The course is short from the copper tees and a bit overrated for it’s distance.
Carla, thanks for the 5-stars and great feedback on the course! We truly appreciate you choosing The Lodge at Ventana Canyon and hope to have you back again soon.
Great course
Ventana Canyon is always in great shape. Surrounded by mountain views. Tough course. The kind you have to play several times to figure out the greens. Pace of play was perfect. Never waited for the group ahead or pushed by the group behind. A little pricey but worth it as a treat for yourself every once in a while.
Thanks for the 5-stars and great feedback on the course! We truly appreciate you choosing The Lodge at Ventana Canyon and hope to have you back again soon.
John, thanks for the 5-star review and choosing to play The Lodge at Ventana Canyon! We hope you had a great time with us and come back soon.
Ventana Canyon - Canyon Course
The Canyon course is easier than the Mountain course. It was very enjoyable to play. Tees and fairways are in great condition. Greens are very smooth but very firm and difficult to hold, even with a short iron for 12 handicapper. Ventana Canyon is both a private club and a resort facility. The private club side and the resort side swap courses on each succeeding day so members are never playing with out of towners like me. This is a good arrangement. However the logistics of the courses are strange. The first tees are near the private club and 1 mile away from the resort and only a small building with minimal bathrooms and small snack bar are available to resort golfers at the first tees. This arrangement is substantially less than comparable resort courses. However the golf is great and after getting accustomed to the strange logistics, Ventana Canyon is a must destination for Tucson golfers.
Thanks for the 5-stars and taking the time to share your feedback with us. Your comments on some of our amenities and layout are valued by our staff as we continuously work towards new improvements and providing an even better experience for our golfers. We truly appreciate you choosing The Lodge at Ventana Canyon and hope to have you back again soon.
We look forward to seeing you again! Thanks for the 5-star review.
