Bang for the buck
Had a great time with a bogey bro. We’re both around the 10 handicap range, and we had a great time with the layout. The greens could use a little TLC, and most tee boxes were under repair, but we soldiered on. The bev cart was around twice per 9! That’s a win on a hot PHX day. All around great bang for 60 bucks.
Bunkers sucks
Course was not in perfect diction. But it is getting to be the hot season. Most of the tee boxes were under repair and not usable. All of that was ok. But the bunkers!!Rock hard and some with casual water in them. No way for the water to drain through “concrete”. The bunkers should be deemed unplayable. .
No grass on fairways, no sand in bunkers.
Fairways were hardpan. Couldn’t take a divot. Bunkers were just dirt, and the dirt was like cement. A course with beautiful bunkering, but no sand is ridiculous.
A Big Disappointment!
Drive by this course all the time and finally decided to play it...but it was not a great experience. The check-in process was great, friendly counter gentleman. Got out a few minutes early. The course itself can be fun, but the course conditions left a lot to be desired. The bunkers had absolutely no sand in them and this is prime golf season....no excuse for the bunker conditions--dry and hard--pr.etty much a guess as to how the ball is going to come out. The fairways were decent...mostly...lots of burnt out areas that needed water--badly! If you missed the fairway it was just hope one could find some grass. The areas around a lot of the greens were not maintained well...the collars needed to be mowed and maintained...there was a "burrowing animal" hole just off the front of 17,,,with all the dirt from the animals digging just piled up. The areas around quite a few of the greens showed lack of water also....if you water the greens these areas should also be receiving water....need to be observant when dry areas show up...pretty sure very little attention is given to observing. They were doing some manual watering on a couple of fairways...but nobody was monitoring it and the water was really puddling up...could have moved these hoses to some other dry areas, with a little attention to the watering. This course has a lot of potential, but for being at the end of PRIME golf season it was in sad shape. A big disappointment for sure..
need more left handed clubs. manager was not friendly or helpful and wanted to check out for the day.
No sand in bunkers
It was nearly impossible to get out of bunkers because there was no sand……
An Enjoyable Day at Stonecreek
Very friendly staff with decent amenities. The greens and parts of the course were not in the best of condition. I also prefer to have carts with GPS so that was also a disappointment.

Second time this year bachelor parties have ruined round. Couldn’t finish due to slow play. Marshall ignored us when we complained. Fifth player joins bachelor group in middle of round. These types need to find a different kind of recreation. This is golf - not a party bar.
Great value for overall good course
Good pace, fairways and greens were good, good layout. Only criticism was that a lot of the bunkers were rock hard.
Challenging course
We have enjoyed all our rounds played here. Our only complaint is the rock hard sand traps!
