The Wigwam Arizona
About The Wigwam Arizona
Located in the West Valley near Phoenix-Scottsdale is one of Arizona's most historic golf resorts, Wigwam. Set on 440 acres, this village-style resort features three 18-hole golf courses, including two designed by Robert Trent Jones Sr., most notably the famous Gold Course. The resort features 331 casitas and suites with large private patios and several resort pools, including a new 25-foot water slide tower. The resort-style golf courses are more parkland in nature than surrounding desert courses and feature palm trees and water hazards sprinkled throughout. There are four dining concepts, led by the signature Litchfield's Restaurant serving local farm-to-table cuisine, while there is Red's Bar & Grill for casual fare and the Wigwam Bar, which is the social epicenter of the resort. Recreation outside of the 54 holes of golf is nine lighted tennis course and two regulation bocce-ball courts, sand volleyball, bike rentals and yard games.Facts

Recommend
I normally play the Blue Course and this was a first time playing the Red. Fun course! Very open, forgiving, very pretty with the nice houses surrounding the course. Due to dry conditions, it was so little drier probably than normal but I think the superintendent is doing the best job possible. I highly recommend this course, especially if you are looking to have fun or a high handicapper. Although, some of the holes are still challenging.
Great course, great value
Not sure if it’s because we played late April on a Monday, but WOW this course is a hidden gem if you are looking for a reasonable challenge for a fair price. Yes, the 18th hole kicked out butts (I lost two balls there), but that didn’t detract from a great round with no waiting time (finished in 4 hours), friendly staff, and just a fun, no-pressure afternoon of golf.
Very Nice
Very nice course that was in great shape. Very playable and the pace of play was excellent
Not in good shspe
Sprinklers running on many holes we had to navigate around; fairways not in great shape; many greens with brown, thin dirt spots. Not impressed.
Rare fun day
I got a great deal for this course so I was thinking something was wrong with the course or whatever but I was very wrong ! Just my lucky day, there was really no one on the course and the course itself was very fun and beautiful. They have a really cool island par 3 which is pretty difficult depending on the pin placement. Had a great day, finished in 3 hours and 5 mins and I’m excited to try the other wigwam courses!
Typical RTJ
Very challenging course. RTJ likes to slope slopes his greens and around the green to make your ball end up in the bunkers. You beed to take care of your shots. I knew that would be the case going in so it didn't surprise me to have to play a number of bunker shots. It was a very challenging course and it was in great shape.
WigWAM
This is my first time playing any of the Wigwam courses and I found it pleasant. Don't be in a rush when playing, especially for a Friday afternoon tee time. Course is fun and challenging, mainly because of the elevated and unforgiving greens. And conditions of the greens were a bit under whelming, but I am told the snowbirds tend to leave them quite thrashed.
Beautiful Course and gorgeous homes on fairways
We love the Red Course, it’s our personal favorite of the three.
Great conditions
Greens were quick and rolled true. Just enough rough to make it interesting.
Worth it
Played here and so far the best course I have played in the area. Pace of play was great as was the condition of the course.
Mid level course with goofy rules
Can’t purchase the whole cart to allow spouses to ride; “only 2 carts out per tee time”. Delayed start due to tournament, Cart GPS not working..
Red course
I played 36 holes in one day. After I finished i couldn't find my rental car. I'm lucky Ia nice young man "Danny" I believe drove me around in a golf cart until we found it. If you've never been to wigwam it's very easy to get lost.
