The Wigwam Arizona
About The Wigwam Arizona
Located in the West Valley near Phoenix-Scottsdale is one of Arizona's most historic golf resorts, Wigwam. Set on 440 acres, this village-style resort features three 18-hole golf courses, including two designed by Robert Trent Jones Sr., most notably the famous Gold Course. The resort features 331 casitas and suites with large private patios and several resort pools, including a new 25-foot water slide tower. The resort-style golf courses are more parkland in nature than surrounding desert courses and feature palm trees and water hazards sprinkled throughout. There are four dining concepts, led by the signature Litchfield's Restaurant serving local farm-to-table cuisine, while there is Red's Bar & Grill for casual fare and the Wigwam Bar, which is the social epicenter of the resort. Recreation outside of the 54 holes of golf is nine lighted tennis course and two regulation bocce-ball courts, sand volleyball, bike rentals and yard games.Facts

Long but Fair
Was beautiful and long open fairways with reasonable water.
Was made to share a cart with another player who was a beginner. This caused me to spend most of my time driving him back and forth from side to side instead of advancing my ball. I won't play here again if this cart rule remains.
Usual Excellent Course Conditions
I have been playing this course on and off for the past 20 years.
I can honestly say that I have never been to a better overall golf course in my life taking into account the staff friendliness, accurate tee times; always without a couple of minutes of the booked time and always great maintenance and course conditions..
Good course, slow play
Overall the course was in good shape and looked the layout. Good amenities. Play was very slow, 30 min. behind and forced sharing of carts which I get but most courses let a single ride alone which helps pace of play so just a preference when I select a course. Plus you might get paired with a major chain smoker and very slooow cart driver, or worse.
Red course
Greens are in excellent shape. Fairways are good and rolling. Pace of play could be better, but weekend hacks need lessos on playing faster.
Wigwam Gold - 5/30/2023
Really nice course in good shape. A few bald patches on some fairways, but to be expected in Phoenix, and really not that bad. Otherwise, from tee to green, it was a delight to play essentially a parkland course in the desert.
Had a group of 4 ahead of us who were a little slow. Bear in mind I was playing with an 80+ year old vet, to give an indication of how slow the group were. We still finished in less than 4 hours, which some would argue is reasonable, but we still had to wait on virtually every tee.
Pro Shop is not well signposted, and is unfortunately hidden away but once you get through to the main area, everything is clearly laid out and marked.
Great Course!
This is my 2nd time playing this course. It’s a really good course if you took some time off from golf. There is nothing really challenging about it. Pretty open, if you hit in the tree lines then obviously you’ll have issues. Green are in great shape! Still pretty green in the main fairways. If you’re looking to play a course that’s still green and healthy then this is for you. I’ll be back!
Blue course is tough
This course was tough with a lot of sand traps. But challenges you to really go for it! Staff is friendly and welcoming.
Great Course
Perfect weather, all landscaping gorgeous, greens and fairways terrific.
Nice course
I play all over the valley and usually play the Gold course at wigwam first time playing Red. Was a nice course good conditions not terribly difficult. But perfect for a variety of players.
Three great courses
In the last week I’ve played all three of the wigwam courses and they are all in exceptional condition. Staff is extremely friendly and courteous. Courses are great.
