Great Experience
This course is excellent. It's a very fair golf course where good shots are rewarded and bad shots result in bogey or worse. I played with my wife and we both enjoyed the course, so payers of all abilities will enjoy this track. Staff was to notch--very professional and friendly. Tee boxes were pristine, like the one you see on TV. Greens are perfect--on the faster side, but that's how I like it, and the putts role pure. On of my new favorite courses. Worth the drive, and will definitely be back.
Always a great course to play.
I have playedthis course about 10 times and always enjoy the layout and the great maintenance. I last played here in May, so I was surprised to see all the brown grass when I played this time. In response to the major drought we have in all of California this year, I was told they have cut their daily watering use in half. As a result the driving range is all brown, except for thegreen painted target greens. And there are other areas on the course where the grass is all brown. But I applaud the management for taking this step in light of the water emergency. The course was still a joy.
Immaculate conditions though a bit out of the way
Played here at 8:30 AM tee time on a Saturday. Course played just a touch slow, but only by a few minutes. Fairways and greens are in great shape. A water conservation effort has resulted in many areas beyond the rough that are not watered and brown (dead). I did not play out the dead stuff once the entire time, but the people playing with me and it seemed easier to hit out of than the rough. The rough is, well, rough. I think the best advice about this course is to
1) Stay in fairway, but if you wind up in the rough then
2) Take a safe shot back onto the fairway rather than trying to hit from the rough like you can still reach the green in regulation.
The rough grabs your clubs and makes it very hard to hit your ball straight.
Capay Valley Gem
Yocha Dehe is pricey for me but such a great outing!!Calif in a bad drought but they recycle and manage the course SO well it was green and lush. Got a slow start behind 4 hi rollers and had to jump past them to actually play!! Bunkers crusty but they had just been watered. I started 8:15 but already hot!!
All staff and cart girl were very nice and encouraging!! Course lush, trimmed from tee to green
Thanks for a excelllent experience!
When in northern CA this course is a "don't miss".
cache Creek Golf course
First class operation ! Excellent staff, amenities refrigerators stocked with water every couple of holes very nice !
Amazing
For years I've heard from others how great this course is and after finally being able to get out here I have to say that everything I've heard was correct.
This course is amazing. Beautiful scenery, the fairways and greens are immaculate. This is my new favorite course.
The price is a bit much compared to what I usually pay but it's worth every penny.
I had a 8am Tee time and was done at 11:15.
Staff was friendly and helpful.
It was a great time and despite the 2hr drive, I'll be going back very soon.
This course inspires you to play great
Great Service, course in stellar condition!
Another great day of play here, and no question why they are called green fees. Perfect condition, great customer service and challenging design. Already planning my next round. Restaurant had great menu and tasty lunch.
Wonderful venue
Terrific staff ... From the fellow who met us at the Bag Drop to the one greeting us on the 18 th green, and everyone in between, all were so friendly and helpful. We will definitely be back!
You will be WOW!
Very very nice golf course. Even better than most private golf courses! Must to see and play!
A beautiful course to play.
This was my second time at Yocha Dehe. It is a great course but not cheap. I was lucky to use my GNow rewards. During the summer the hills around the course are brown, not green like in the spring. But it is a fun experience that any golfer will enjoy. Try it I know you will like it.
This course is awesome
Helpful friendly staff. Course in amazing condition - greens were punched but were in excellent condition. They were done right.
Awsome Tract
Great place to play and challenge yourself, but a bad shot will not totally kill you. Some courses make it too hard to play with tough sloping pin placements and other tricks. This place in tough, but fair. No tricky three putts from ten feet or rough eight inches thick. Well worth the drive.
I'll be back
FInally got to play Yocha. Booked a Saturday 2:30 tee time for $69. Not surprising, they had aerated less than a week ago. That said, the greens were not bumpy and the aeration was hardly evident except for maybe hole 17. So, on a very warm day, I really enjoyed playing in the really attractive course. My day was topped off with a huge drive on 10, and the resulting birdie. The staff is attentive and friendly. Let me add, that the food in the casino sports bar is great. Large tasty portions.
Great track
I was surprised by the fairness of the course. I won't say it wasn't a challenge but it was very forgiving. Once the trees grow it will be a very difficult course I think. Yocha is the best manicured course I've ever played. Perfect greens and fairways. Excellent scenery. Best hole 19 beer with a view you can imagine.
One complaint, they are strict about b.o.b on the course. For the overall cost of green fee's, dinner, drinks they shouldn't hassle you and it didn't help that the group behind was hammered acting like hooligans on every green behind us. Overall great experience and will definitely play again.
White Glove Golf Experience
If there ever was a Nordstrom's of Golf Courses this has to be it. Exceptional customer service from check-in to club cleaning and departure (plus the dining room). A true challenge for any level of golfer, with the experience of some of the finer clubs in the country!
Private flavor for public course
The service was better than some private country clubs. The facility, restaurant, practice venue, and course are in excellent condition. Greens are fast and slippery and the rough is thick and hard to get a clean club on the ball. This was a great family round and everyone enjoyed the day in a beautifully challenging environment.
great course
will be back again very soon, the staff was great. the location was excellent. by far the best course in the area.
Marshal
Went out 15 mins before scheduled tee time ( asked by staff )and was repetitively bantered by the marshal about being behind ( only due to shotgun tourney w/ was starting soon). At 89$ a round, I would anticipate a leisurely experience. I love the course but that put a damper on the day.
Great courae
Love this course. Great views excellent conditions and great layout. Offers a challenge with every shot.
Good afternoon,
Thank you for reviewing Yocha Dehe Golf Club from your recent visit. To give further details with our water situation, we cut back like most other courses did while focusing all of our efforts on keeping almost all playable areas as pristine as possible. Really the only area that comes into play consistently that was affected was the left side of the split fairway on #15. Besides that, the other small areas throughout the course affected by reduced water might come into play with very errant tee shots. So far the feedback about how well conditioned the course is for this time of year has been overwhelmingly good, so we are happy to have made it through the summer with keeping the golf course in pristine shape despite the drought and hot temperatures. I would like to speak with you about a couple of other things if you have time to call me at 530-796-5804. Thanks for your time and also for reviewing Yocha Dehe Golf Club. - Rusty Seymour, Director of Golf.
