Brown Fairway. I think this is the 9th fairway but it is typical of all fairways. Photo submitted by sherpaboy on 02/12/2022

Horrible Pace of Play
I played here on a weekday afternoon. The pace of play was ridiculously slow. It took over 3 hours to play the front nine. The course itself is in pretty bad shape with a lot of flood damage from the recent rains.
carlton oaks
After heavy rains, the week before, greens and tee boxes were nice, no sand in bunkers. Fairways were poor, difficult to find a grass lie. No snackbar on Mon. Save your money.
Good Shape
With every course, I start with the greens. They were rolling well, but a tad slow for my liking…9.5 maybe.
The bunkers are a little better. Can somewhat play out of them. I understand the course is going to get a complete redesign and probably why a lots not going into the course at this time.
Overall, we play here 3 times a month, so come out and enjoy.

Late tee time
As we booked the tee time for 1:24 we didn’t expect a full round. We got 14 holes in at the end of the day.
The layout was challenging but very doable for the average golfer. Lots of dry spots with no grass on the fairway but you definitely got the roll. Being from WA state we would rather have the latter.
Greens were damp so they weren’t super fast. The downhill putts weren’t do or die.
Pro shop gets high ratings for friendliness and service.
Range there so we could warm up was important

So slow
Please space out the start times, people are playing slow on having start time every 8-9 minutes isn’t working.
High rates for sub par course conditions on top of the slowest pace at any course I’ve played in San Diego is awful.
Used to be a great course with normal rates and good pace

Bunkers need lots of work
The bunkers and traps are terrible. They haven't been maintained. They are hard packed - might just as well be hitting off the cart path.

Great Greens - Fairways OK
The greens were in great shape as well as the tee boxes. The grass was a bit sparse and really short on the majority of the fairways. But the pace of play was excellent and the course layout is beautiful.
Needs a lot of maintenance
Pace of play was glacial. Saw the "ambassador" once the whole time. Fairways are like hitting off concrete. Only bright spot was the drink cart.
Horrible!!!
Good layout, but horrible conditions, bare dirt everywhere, long grass on tees, greens very sketchy, ranger was worthless at moving people along.
Golf carts are awesome, best part of the experience.
