Brown Fairway. I think this is the 9th fairway but it is typical of all fairways. Photo submitted by sherpaboy on 02/12/2022

This course has a great layout complete with Mountains views Lakes mature trees
I like the lay out of this course it's out in East County with views of the mountains beautiful lakes. Lots of bunkers. The greens are very nice. The staff is really good the beverage cart girls come around and they're very nice. Definitely worth going there and checking out very challenging course.
Good for Practice
Golf Course is not easy to make good performance. Fairway condition is acceptable and Green speed is so low. And the entire course has steep uphill and downhill slopes, there are many instances where trouble shots are required.
GolfPass@CarltonOaks
I have a yearly "TeeOff" pass with monthly discount. The rough is "rough" and the greens were aerated a week ago - sandy and slow! Played mid-day with a lot of singles and twosomes making pace of play faster than usual. Could use more water on fairways but fine if you bump them up in the fairways.
Bumpy ride
Laser was dislodged several times due to the bumpy course. How hard would it be to smooth out the paths?
I had a good time at Carlton Oaks GC
I enjoyed my Round with my Daughter at Carlton Oaks, I would like to say that the course is getting better overall. I found it quite in good shape for a nice afternoon of golf. We had a great Sandwich at the bar and Grill to start off our Day. I recommend the grill. It was very good. the Greens were a bit slower than I imagined as most players were not use to the speed. I would say that could be worked one. Overall the Course is a great buy for the price. Thank you to all the staff for a great service and Time.
Will come back again.

Rainy day
We got rain for the first nine holes but overall was satisfied with the condition of the course
Seen better days
This course has seen better days and has a storied past. This Pete Dye designed course needs a major renovation. I hope the proposed course modification happens soon. The course staff is friendly and accomodating.
Stay away - did not finish round because of poor quality
Fairways were in awful shape. The grounds were cratered and scorched. By far the bumpiest fairways I've ever seen, driving the cart on the course was painful. Even the cart paths were broken, uneven, and just as unfriendly on your body. Charging $80 is robbery for this course.
Stay away from this course
After staying away for 5 years I decided to give it another try. I got burned AGAIN. This course is garbage. The best part is the posting in the cart that said “major renovations coming”. What a joke! They’ve been saying that for years maybe even a decade. Fake promises. Avoid this place.
Worst Condition Course I ever Played
Carlton Oaks should be embarrassed to provide the worst condition course I've played. Run down, terrible greens, dirt fairways patches. I would call this course a Dog Patch or a Cow Pasture. That's being nice. Called the course before I made reservation and was told the course was in good conditions. Lies and that is unacceptable. Told the Pro shop after the round and they didn't care at all. Don't' waste your Money on this DOG PATCH.
