Not as good as it used to be to be
We’ve played at Rams Hill for several years and always love coming. This Fazio design is fun to play but in recent years playing conditions have declined in a big way. No more overseeding the fairways due to the decision to plant a new type of grass. The lies are too tight and the ball rolls from one side of the fairway to the other. The greens are hit and miss. Use to be fast but not any more. Very sorry to see what use to be a top 100 golf course in decline. We decided to go elsewhere next year.
The staff are excellent both inside and out and the service was great but once on the golf course, it gets disappointing.
Great course, poor greens currently
The greens were long, sand papery and inconsistent. Some pins were not fresh cut, day old. Wasn’t worth the trip in these conditions.
Gorgeous setting and layout BUT
The greens were very poor for the price. They had been punched and sanded and they didn’t tell us ahead of time. Disappointing to drive from Palm Springs for 90 minutes to experience greens that were below average.
Fabulous staff!
We arrived at Ram Hills Golf Club in Borrego Springs all the way from Toronto for a 3-day golf clinic — only to discover that our clubs didn’t make it with us. Not exactly the start we had imagined!
Bob, Anna, Ben, and the entire team at Ram Hills immediately stepped in and went above and beyond to help. They quickly arranged rental clubs, shoes, and everything we needed to get on the course without missing a beat. Their understanding, kindness, and genuine desire to help turned a stressful situation into a positive experience.
The staff at this club are an enormous asset. We are incredibly grateful for how well they took care of us. Thank you for making us feel so welcome!
Spectacular
The grass has been changed since I first played this course (to make it better in the heat of the desert). The change has made an awesome course even better. Greens are very fast but also very true. Loved the change and the fact that this was my 2nd time back in the area and first choice to play should say it all. Not to be missed.
Rams HIll
The course was fun to play. Very challenging and in excellent condition. The starter was great, and gave us some very good tips for specific holes. Great course to play and I would love to play it again.
A Fun Challenge!
This course has the best of everything. It has magnificent views, excellent course conditions, very challenging and the nicest staff you would ever want to meet!
I love playing there. It is a must experience if in Southern California!
Great experience
The staff, courses conditions, were just over the top!
BEST COURSE AROUND
This course is a gem, one of a kind… set in the beautiful secluded, peaceful Borrego Springs. The views are breathtaking from every hole. The staff is exceptional, friendly, professional and bend over backwards to make your experience one that leave you wanting to come back again and again. The experience of playing here raises the bar for all courses. If you never golf here, consider yourself missing out. Come try it for yourself.
Rams Hill is BACK!
We used to play Rams Hill a bunch back in 2020 2021, the conditions got a little bit suspect in 2022, so we stopped going for a few years, but we had heard they had redone all of the grass and so we took another shot last weekend. It was immaculate!! Greens were perfect. No bumps running fast. Fairways and Rough were great, all in all it was as good as I’ve ever seen it there. the layout is amazing, the service is top-notch, the clubhouse is great, the food is great. It’s better value than anything. You can play in Palm Springs or Palm Desert, highly recommend to check it out if you’ve never been.
Rams Hill Just WOW
This is one of the most spectacular courses I have played, from arrival to completion it is a first-class experience. Being greeted and set up on a cart right when you show up, the pro shop is nicely stocked with just about anything you could need, and everyone is very helpful. The driving range is off the grass, stocked with Titleist Pro V’s, has club washing stations, and a few range finders to find the yardage of the many targets to aim at. Course conditions were superb, the ground is firm, so the greens don’t seem to get torn up by ball marks, making them flawless, but fast and very undulating. The scenery is beautiful and vast, I was fortunate to play 2 days with day 1 bringing 30-40 mph winds, but almost completely calm the next day, I guess you never know what you are going to get. This course is something special, even more so for me because I got a hole in one on hole #10! Shout out to the Head Pro Bob for sending me my hole in 1 flag, Ben in the pro shop, and Blanca in the Ram shack.

Great Course
Course I really good shape. Greens rolled thru around 10.5. no bare spots anywhere on course. Fairways plush. Rough was deep. Complimentary cookies at start and end of round along with shaved ice at the turn. Mid 90s weather but lots of water on the course. Very friendly staff.
Outstanding customer service. Love the course layout. Course in good condition. Some tee boxes too high. Greens a bit slow.
