Always wet but played fast
They need sand and to water less, but it's a solid executive layout
Impressive Course
Friendly staff, course conditions 7.5/10. Most fairways were in good shape. Only one fairway was pretty rough, and one green that I recall. We walked the course which was a bit challenging in itself as there a few decent hills to climb. This doesn’t take away from the course however. Some holes were moderately challenging while others provided relief. I paid for the cheaper rate as it was at an odd hour, however after playing the course, the more expensive rate would still have been a good deal. Overall very impressed with this course. Will definitely be returning.
Horrible greens!
I played Saint Marks/Lakehouse many many times over the years… It’s a average Muni with very nice facilities that have been upgraded over time… Clubhouse food are really good… But, the course is very average of more important. The grades are in Horrible shape!!! About 2/3 of the greens have major fungus dry areas and it’s almost unputtable… Frequently we were moving the ball to areas that were not burned out dirt. They charged $85 to walk and I would probably not come back out until I hear that the greens are a lot better… Sounds like they need a new greenskeeper.
Wonderful executive xourse
The fairways are in great shape. The greens are good as well. They now have brand new golf carts that are super comfortable. It's a fun round of golf for the beginner, ot advanced golfer working on the short game .
repeat guest
love this little course but the management needs to explain to guests to play ready golf. the foursome in front of us thought they were the only ones out there. took us nearly 4 hours to complete. this is a 2.5 hour max course. played many times. they need to send someone out to Marshall the slowpokes.
First Time on the Links
A semi-busy Sunday, pace was good. No hold ups during the round. Fairways in good condition overall, no so the greens - more work need to restore surfaces. And the sand in the bunkers was wet everywhere, more like playing dirt.
dissapointed
greens have a disease, mudding places on fairways from uneven watering, t boxes beat up
A great place to play
This is a great place to play. They have newer golf carts in. And the pace of play is very good. The staff do a very nice job keeping up the course. The staff are very friendly and the entire course is clean. I enjoy playing here because the holes are laid out very well and I don’t feel like I’m constantly dodging golf balls like I am at some other executive courses.
Solid Course - Not Worth Price of Admission
I have played this course over 10 times now, and it is in one of the more fun parts of San Marcos. With great views, friendly staff, and a great range/club house this course feels like a country club at the entrance. However, once you leave the first hole, you notice a significant drop off in quality of the course. With other golf courses in the area having the same price of admission, and one of them being one of the best courses in the San Diego, I think the Links at the Lakehouse needs to revisit their pricing model, or use the additional money they have been charging to fix the greens.
Fairways ib bad shape only 2 greens were in good shape not recommended this to no one and not playing it again
