Buyer Beware
If you like putting on greens that are layered with sand, this is the course for you. I was truly disappointed when I saw my approach shot to the 1st green produced a splash - and it wouldn’t be the only green that produced that effect. The greens had so much sand that they were actually a sandy color rather than green. Needless to say, the greens were virtually unplayable. It is unconscionable that there was no mention of a recent aerification on the booking website.
On the plus side, the bunkers I hit into had plenty of sand and were in decent shape despite the morning rain. Even so, I felt like I wasted my time (and money) playing this course due to the condition of the greens.
I suggest golfers wait at least another week (or two) before booking it.
Pala Mesa
Fun course to play. Keep your ball on the fairway, the rough is rougher than rough. Very difficult to find stray balls. It definitely needs a mow. The rough impedes the pace of play. Greens were fast and true. Fairways well maintained. Definitely 2 different 9 hole courses. Front is relatively flat, back has a little more character.

Fun day of golf
This course is in good shape, has lots of challenge & a few quirky holes. It is set in a beautiful area but the freeway noise is intense on a couple of holes. Range mats are pretty worn but still functional. Disappointed to see the midway snack shack closed early so that we picked up a bag of chips at the restaurant so as not to lose our place on the course-- was hoping for a bit more quick options.
Pace was a bit slow due to a very slow group 3 ahead of us . Other players were friendly -- an enjoyable day, reasonable price.

Great Value for the Money
Great course conditions, nice greens, nice fairways, got a great deal through TeeOff.
The pace of play was ok, it took about 4 hours to finish our round.

Why would you not??
What a fun place—- a creative short track where the course flows beautiful along the hillside. Views for days and greens with character keep your attention while making your way around this enchanting facility. The staff was pleasant and attentive, the location is super convenient being right off the freeway, and most of all— it was worth the money!!
Being on the east side of the hills I suggest an earlier tee time to catch the sun coming up over the mountains in the distance , which really adds a depth and character to this already awesome place!! But either way—— you’re in for treat!

Nice Course
The course is in great shape. I had a problem with my cart, but they sent out another one. We continued our round without incident. I didn't play as well as I should have, but that was entirely my fault. The pace of play could have been a little better. All in all, it was a very enjoyable day.

Handled the recent rains well.
Overall after record rainfall the course has held up very well. The fairways and rough were a little shaggy but the crew hasn’t had many opportunities for mowing. The bunkers while a bit damp were still in great shape and played very well.

Best condition I've seen here (except for the tees)
Tee boxes need to be bulldozed, other than that, the rest of the course is in the best condition since I first played here in 1989. Greens are absolutely perfect, although I'd hate to play here all the time, because my 3-putt% d skyrocket! On the expensive side, but for a sunny Sunday, my son and I enjoyed our round.
