The ranch-style Pala Mesa Resort in Fallbrook is just minutes away from Temecula wine country. All 132 rooms have either been renovated or will be soon. A heated outdoor pool, four lighted tennis courts and fitness room are available to guests. The golf course starts out narrow but gets more scenic with more elevation changes later in the round.Facts

Great course even in Rain!
Great course fairways were green and full, it rained so no one was there but once the rain cleared the course started to get kind of busy. Overall would go again on hot deal.

Pala Mesa is always fun and challenging.
Course was a bit wet in spots but who in California can complain about that. Pro shop staff is great.

Noise
We really enjoyed our round. The only negative we encountered was the noise from the 15. I know that there isn’t much you can do to lower the traffic noise. If not for that I would rate you as excellent in every category.

VIP (very inconsiderate people)
Club manager/starter decided to “insert” an extra tee time for VIPs just before my twosome. This created a 5 minute gap ONLY between tee times before and after this VIP foursome. Take note that this VIP 4some couldn’t even keep up with the elderly 4some in the front of them. VIPs also took their time at the turn. Pace of play was so dreadful that my single partner quit after the 15th hole. Otherwise the course is coming along quite nicely especially the fairways; inconsistent greens with visible recovering patchy areas; tee boxes and bunkers need work still. Don’t be a later group as you will have to wait for incoming carts!
