Best around
Loved playing this course and it was in great condition. The greens were fantastic fast and smooth with a lot of undulation. Now the bad, as previously mentioned the unfriendly guy at the desk would NOT HONOR our Golf Now rate of $60 and we had to pay $70 even though I showed him my email receipt. I’ve NEVER had that happen and I golf every week somewhere.
Great course!
Started at 10:05 and finished in 3 1/2 hours. Great course. Tee boxes in good shape. Fairways in good shape. Greens have ridiculous undulations but rolled good. Not as fast as they look. Driving range looks like it has a bad crack habit, but it worked. Had a great time and will definitely be back. If it wasn’t so far out there, I’d play all the time.
The price advertised on golf now was 60$, I was charged 70$
I was charged 70$ even the price was 60$ on GolfNow!
Amazing Golf
This is my third time playing San Vicente and I brought a friend who is absolutely super impressed with the course the amount of room and the complexity of the greens. Will be coming back again soon the fairways or as good as it gets.
CLOWNISH GREENS
The course was in very good condition, the layout of the tee to the fairways were great, BUT the greens HAD TOO MUCH UNDULATIONS for me!! I am a low handicap golfer, but there were many 3 putts that I couldn't no get near the holes. The price was too high, the course charged me $90.00 that day. In my humble opinion it's a $60 course, that's all!!!
Hidden Gem
I booked myself as a single with three others. However, when I arrived, the three were first time golfers, so I went out by myself not what I wanted to do however, doing such really give me time to enjoy the nuances and the complexities and the features of the golf course. Oh my god what a gym, of course, Bermuda fairways bent grass greens really nice sand in all the traps completely blew me away. I played here for the first time in January and it’s a different course. I would put it up against any course in San Diego for tee box to green consistency will perhaps almost as good as Torrey Pines. Bit of a drive, but you will be challenged and impressed.
Difficult
Pin locations were insane and greens were super challenging. Getting to the green wasn’t hard put staying on the green and putting was insane
Great course!
Great course. I got it on a hot deal so it was only $50 for 18 holes. I think the normal $90 for 18 is too much but it was in great shape and a fun course I loved it. I’ll be coming back soon (for the hot deal tho not normal fee)
Wow
PGA Tour level conditions. Private club level golf.
Great play
Course is in really great shape! Fairways look great and greens are super fast/firm. The only issue I had was that I decided to play a round when it was 97 degrees outside. Wish this course was a little closer to where I live so I could play it a bit more often!
Pace of play
The course is in great shape and is really nice. There was no ranger, the pace of play was insanely slow, 6 hours to play 18 holes of golf on a Monday makes 0 sense. This course needs a ranger to speed up pace of play badly. How can you expect people to come back if it takes 6 hours to play 18 holes.
6 HOURS for a round?!?!
The range was not available as well as the putting/chipping green. Would have been nice to have been notified considering we showed up an hour early. The pace of play was absolutely horrible, I think we made it to the 2nd hole and every other tee box after was a waiting game! That is the longest it’s ever taken me to play a round of golf. What was even worse was no Course Marshall to speed up pace of play. The course and layout itself was amazing, it’s a great course that is well kept and maintained. Almost like finding a hidden gem with how many unkept course there are in SD County. Don’t come here if you enjoy ready golf!
