Disappointed
To be honest my review would have been substantially higher if the bunkers had any resemblance of sand. Bunkers were hard dirt with rocks and Pebbles that looked to be purposefully placed in them. Great layout, fairways were good, Greens challenging and views were fantastic.
SAND TRAPS ARE CRAP
Hey, copper valley ownership, spend some on filling those bunkers with white sand . As a golf course it’s a wonderful layout but those bunkers are straight ghetto and you should be embarrassed to even suggest it’s ranked in the top 10 golf courses. I love driving up and play the course but my God Almighty, there are municipal courses with better bunkers with guess what real freaking sand.
OPEN YOUR WALLET AND STOP BEING SO CHEAP CHEAP CHEAP !!!!
Great golf course
Super Golf Course with awful traps/bunkers.For the price a person pays to play there the poor condition of the traps make it an unpleasant experience. Fairways, tee, and greens are fabulous.
Best public course in the Central Valley
The Golf Club at Copper Valley consistently delivers an exceptional playing experience. The course layout is both engaging and enjoyable, the greens are meticulously maintained, and the pace of play is reliably smooth. However, the condition of the bunkers detracts from the overall quality. Improving the sand consistency and maintenance in the bunkers would elevate the course to match the high standard set by the rest of the facility.
Slow play
I found it interesting that we were at the tee at 9:15, 9:30 tee time and the group was on the green but the Marshall said it wasn't our turn. He then proceeded to have two groups go in front of us. The group directly in front of us is clearly very slow, at least a hole behind but the Marshall has not warned them. If pace of play is important, where is the Marshall or warnings on the gps?
By the way we have purchased alcohol and food in past(spent a couple dollars) and been warned by Marshalls that we are behind.
Bunkers
Bunkers are horrible. Been the same for years. I haven’t played here since last Father’s Day. Thinking by now the bunkers would be fixed. The weed cloth under sand are exposed and scattered inside bunkers. Sand is old, thin and hard packed. Lots of loose rocks. Some have stagnant green algae water in the bottom of bunkers
LOVE THIS COURSE...EXCEPT FOR THE BUNKERS
Copper Valley is one of my favorite places to play. I love the course and its layout is wonderful. The greens were in excellent shape and the fairways were dry and consistent. THe only problem I had was with the bunkers. If Copper Valley is going to charge high-end prices for their rounds, then they need to have high-end bunkers. Many of the bunkers had sand that hadn't been raked or was compacted. They also have a problem with the sand trap weed fabric that is both unsigthly and can be a real injury hazard. This has been a problem for many years, and it is time that it is remedied. As I said, I LOVE THIS COURSE, but the bunkers are a problem.
Great course
Course was outstanding, bunkers need some more sand in them. Only issue was with golf now fee. Didn’t come up a pro shop so I paid the additional 10.00 fee to course even though card was charged fee. I will be going back this this course in near future. Extremely light traffic out there.
