The Resort at Pelican Hill

About The Resort at Pelican Hill
The Resort at Pelican Hill is one of SoCal's trendiest getaways, whether it's for golf or to unwind. The resort takes inspiration from the 16th century Italian architect Andrea Palladio. Each one-story bungalow guest room or suite features its own limestone fireplace, private terrace and marble bath. The 2- to 4-bedroom villas are secluded within their own gated community. Guests can lounge at the Coliseum pool and spa or shuttle to the Crystal Cove beach. Tom Fazio's North and South courses both kiss the Pacific Ocean with outstanding views throughout the round. Six restaurants will tempt your appetite.Facts

Top 3 Courses
Incredible ocean views from over half of the holes and pristine green conditions.
Trash
This place is a sanitation plant for human poop. Don’t go here unless you like human poop on you.
Goofy guys
Two groups had joined together in front of me & goofing around…didn’t know much golf etiquette.
Went around them on hole 1.
Thankfully clubhouse adjust the fee for the round.
Thank you!
Starters
Very unfriendly starter . Seemed he was doing us a favour letting us spend $1500 to play a round
Breathtaking
I played the South course on an overcast day at the end of May. I can only imagine this place when the sun is shining all day. I absolutely loved the course. There was almost no one playing that day, and I ended up going out as a single at 11:50. I caught up to a twosome on 11 as they were waiting on the group in front of them. The round took about 3 1/2 hours.
The layout is spectacular. You don't get ocean views on every hole, but the views you do get are breathtaking. I played the white tees and shot a great round. The holes can be a little tight, but there is usually some mounding that will direct your call back to the fairway. I look forward to coming back.
Pelican North still great
It has been a few years since I last played Pelican Hills North Course. It is still a lot of fun.
Only complaint I had was that the bunkers hadn't been prepared and there were a lot of footprints in the fairway bunkers. Not supposed to hit it in there, but having your ball end up in a footprint is a double penalty.
Looked like non of the bunkers had been raked by the staff in a few days they were pretty crusty.
Golf now problems
I booked a 4:00 tee time at Pelican Hill with golf now. I did show up a little early and as a single asked if there were any earlier openings that I could join. The person checking me in said because I booked with golf now it was not possible to change my time. So I went to warm up and decided I would ask the starter if there was an opening for a single. He said “Your the golf now guy” if you want to go at 3:30 you need to go inside and pay more. I have been playing golf for 30 years and have never been treated so poorly. If they have a problem with golf now bookings Mabey they should stop.
Great course, rude marshal
This is a weird one because I love the course but experience a rude marshal.
I went out as a single and was paired up with another guy and two ladies. They struggled a bit, but we’re not particularly slow. Around the ninth hole, the marshal Came by and his loud gas powered cart and told us to pick it up. Fine. We had just waited on the previous hole. He proceeded to follow us for the next four holes telling us we were going to slow after each shot.. It was very disturbing. Finally on the 15th hole, he made us skip a hole. We got to the 16th hole and the Group ahead had just teed off. So now we were waiting. I was five over to that and wanted to submit my score. I called the pro shop and no one did anything. Very unfortunate!
Good round in a great course
The Pelican is always my favorite course in the area. The greens are in final stage of recovery from punched - they are a bit slower than normal. The pace is also a little slower - nearly a 5 hour round. However, great weather and playing partners made up a fun round.
Pelican north
I have played both south and north now.
I wasn’t that personally impressed by south course as visually it’s a 3 star compared to the north is outstanding every hole with the views. And that’s why everyone comes here. Otherwise it’s a solid course at any other facility. I always pay hot deal. If I payed premium price $450 or so , I would have been disappointed on south. But not north it’s well worth it. Again layout conditions views are all amazing. Worth a high price . My home course is Torrey Pines and I was impressed by the north
Always a great place to play with incredible views!!
