The Resort at Pelican Hill

About The Resort at Pelican Hill
The Resort at Pelican Hill is one of SoCal's trendiest getaways, whether it's for golf or to unwind. The resort takes inspiration from the 16th century Italian architect Andrea Palladio. Each one-story bungalow guest room or suite features its own limestone fireplace, private terrace and marble bath. The 2- to 4-bedroom villas are secluded within their own gated community. Guests can lounge at the Coliseum pool and spa or shuttle to the Crystal Cove beach. Tom Fazio's North and South courses both kiss the Pacific Ocean with outstanding views throughout the round. Six restaurants will tempt your appetite.Facts

Beautiful Course/Layout… subpar organization
The course is well put together, great design. Carts are restricted speeds very frequently throughout the round and cause it to play very very slow. Starters were not exactly on point in getting everyone out on time. Took us about 4:45 to get through. Worth making the trip, slightly overpriced for what you get.
Great course for the twilight price
Def worth $250 but def not worth the sometimes $700 that I see it going for. Conditions are nice, but the greens sometimes looked like they had been through a hail storm. FIX YOUR DIVOTS PEOPLE

Calming Experience on my Birthday
This was my first time playing this course. I thoroughly enjoyed it and the group I played with. This was my birthday and I loved it. As a matter of fact I got a hole in one on the 16th hole on the North Course!! Just a soft 9 wood to the green and it rolled right in, what excitement. The club gave me a yellow flag that had "Hole in One" on it and the 16th hole. The staff said that not anyone has ever gotten a hole in one on that hole. Well I wish the flag had the correct course on it as the flag says "South Course" which I didn't play. Maybe I can return this one and get the correct one????
Nice track but a bit overpriced imo
If you can afford to play it regularly, great. Otherwise special occasions for me only as it’s a tad overpriced.
Birthday Hole in One?
I use Golf savers dot. I’m when I play in Asia. So I tried Golf Now here I. The states. Was easy and got a great rate at a top course. It was my 63 birthday. However I did not shoot my age but I did get a hole in one on the 16th hole! It was great. I had just gotten a 9wood for my bday and the hole was about 160 yards and it hit the green and fed right to the hole. pelican GC gave me a nice yellow flag with Hole in One on it.
I will definitely use your service again. When I arrived they did have me listed with my name just had me as a “guest “ this confused the start guy and I was kinda worried. I did have my print out though.
Saturday Afternoon at the Hill
Excellent as always
We had a foursome caught up to a slow twosome
We played 14
Started at 5:15pm
Tough layout. Slow play.
I only played it because I was able to secure a discount on Golf Now. Otherwise, it’s not worth $677. First, the layout is tough. All the greens slope and some pins were a bit unfair given the slope. The really long par 4s (i.e., 412, 440) were a bit ridiculous unless you can drive it 300 yards (from the blue tees- I’m a 7 handicap). Second, the group in front of us were at least a hole and a half behind. Yet the marshal just kept writing down “something” but never pushed them or let us pass through. That’s poor for this type of course. Lastly, I would rate this as a course that should cost the public between $159 and $239 (weekdays vs weekends). It was on my bucket list. I checked the box but I don’t think the layout and cost are worth playing again. Pro shop staff and starter were friendly and helpful. The marshal needs to move groups that are slow, especially when our carts told us we were 10-18 minutes behind. That should never happen at any course let alone one that charges a premium. There are only a few holes with ocean views, but they were spectacular.
Ocean North
Beautiful course with Amazing views. Played with my wife on on 28gh anniversary and had an amazing time. Cant wait to play the South course
Beacon on a Hill
I played this course for the first time and I am in awe with the service! From Valet to Pro Shop check in to starter check in. All in this place is logistically placed in an organized manner si that golfers will not miss anything and that there is a flow in what you do so there will no delays or push back to start. Well
managed.
The course is in great shape! The views are the same as Torrey Pines, Monarch Beach but still not comparable to Pebble Beach.
The only issues I have is the back to back Par 3’s on the back nice of the South Course and the expensive tee time. If they lower their green fees by $50 then people may reconsider playing here. Another option is even if they maintain the prize at add some incentive to the golfer - I only got 2 free bottled water and free range balls. Maybe they can add free burrito or taco or humus dip to incentivize patrons to their course.
