Nice course; poorly run
The course is one of the nicer layouts and offers a beautiful setting. Played it many times. There is a noticeable negative difference this year in the running of the course. The pro shop is sparsely stocked, the restaurant has closed, clubhouse cashier had to go out on the range and physically pickup balls himself to make 2 buckets of range balls, and they have an outside golf management company running the operations. Several bunkers had no rakes. The pace of play was unacceptably slow and one of the worst in memory. Even the cart girl lamented the slow play and was the target from many irate golfers. After 4 hours we left after the 14th hole. It was an overall terribly disappointing round of golf. We likely will not return.
Watch out for the pedestrians!
The person checking us in barely spoke nor did he give much instruction as to where to go. The starter was very friendly. He held us back until the group in front had cleared the tee but as we were ready to tee off along comes a nature walker on the cart path taking her time to pass and stopping and looking at the birds on the water beside the hole. It is a very narrow course and the fairways run beside the resort units. Some of the sidewalks are also close to the course and at one point we had to wait while a woman and two small children cleared the area. for fear of hitting them. At the end as we brought the cart back the employee who saw us pull in just got in another cart and took off without a word to us. Not a course we would return to.
Average at best
Slow play along with average course condition. The course is kind of boring and the greens were sparse. Many more courses in the area are a better value.
Very Nice
Kind of a hidden gem in the rear of the resort. Cassie, in the proshop, was very helpful and attentive. The carts are pretty new and the layout is not the typical Florida design. Overall very well done.
Nice Course for Fast Nine
I have played this course many times over the past 10 or more years. The course was in good shape. Fairways and greens were good. Pace of play was great. I recommend this course for anyone who is looking to play a fast nine holes or playing with beginners.
Do not play here
Course unable to find
It is an afterthought to a market
They allowed 6 year old with 4 non golfers to play
Run away from this course
Do not play
They should pay you to play
Worst course ever
very nice golf course
parcours très agréable car très varié
de l'eau , des bois, des doglegs
certains greens surélevés
un vrai plaisir
le seul problème le temps de jeu plus de 4h 30
Name Sells the Course
Nothing really outstanding. It relies on the Palmer brand name. One of the holes #10 or #11 needs taller fringe and rough between the green and water. Playing partner hit a perfect chip from above the hole...ball went past the hole which is ok....but it rolled past the hole, through the fringe, through the "rough", and into the water = not ok! Very slow check-in process in the pro-shop. Line was 8 deep.
Good course in good shape
The Legends at Orange Lake Resort course is one of my favorites in the area. The course is in good shape tees through greens. The layout is interesting and challenging with several water hazards and fairway & greenside bunkers that necessitate thinking your way around the course. The starter is a great guy, and we were fortunate yesterday to experience one of our best pairings, which added to the enjoyment of our round. Although the course winds through the resort, the natural setting is nicely preserved. Unlike the Reserve Course, you're not distracted by walkers using the cart path - oblivious to the golf being played. It's a bit pricey compared to other "equal" courses nearby, but it's a fun course and I plan on playing it again before heading north.
Cranes Bend was an interesting little course.
Cranes Bend was fine. Question: why doesn't Gollf Now send confirmation emails any longer?
very nice golf course
Nice track. Requires marshalling.
Expensive for experience. Great venue, great course. Greens excellent for time of year. Very slow. Lots of high HCs playing as twosomes and players playing two balls??, 4-somes jumping in at #10?? Just a bit of marshalling could have improved things 100%. Players waiting too long for group in front expecting to hit their first 300 yd drive, only to put it in the woods! Signage could be better. Won't play again, not at that price.
Value
Greens were fast and true. Fairways good. Lots of short par fours. A few quirky holes but they too were fun to play. Always enjoy my rounds here. Try this course for sure when in orlando.
Fun course
This course is great. Has a few challenging holes. Layout was great. ONLY BAD THING IS PACE OF PLAY. THERE WAS NO STARTER SO ITS A GO WHEN U WANT SITUATION. I RAN INTO A 7 SOME. THATS JUST TO MUCH . THEY HELD UP NUMEROUS GROUPS. THE PRO SHOP WAS CALLED WE NEVER SAW ANYONE COME OUT TO HELP MOVE THEM ALONG. THERE WAS A LOT OF WAITING AND UNFORTUNATELY ON A COURSE LIKE THIS THAT SHOULDN'T HAPPEN. Otherwise great day great course. Tee boxes great Green smooth n true. FAIRWAYS in great shape.
