Beautiful course well maintained and a little challenging. Will definitely play here again.

Upon arrival to the course, it gave an old school feel to a golf course with the textbook clock tower in front of the clubhouse. This course immediately took me by surprise once you get to the around hole 3. There are so many rolling hills that it makes it seems as if you’ve made an escape out of Florida and into somewhere in the Mid-West. The views were lovely, as well as the quality of the course overall. I enjoyed the layout and the island-style greens that a few of the holes had. The greens could’ve been much better, but the staff informed my buddy and I that they had aerated the greens ~2 weeks prior to play as well as an influx of rain, so it’s understandable that the greens played as slow as they did. Hole 17 is the “signature hole” and it certainly delivers. Love this place and hope to have the chance to come back again.

The course was great and will bring me back. The initial check-in experience left a lot to be desired. I arrived early and was not allowed to check in early, nor would the lady even consider putting me out early because I had a hot deal. Come back in an hour and maybe you can get out a few minutes early. They were not at all busy. 'Nuff said.

Enjoyed the round. Greens were smooth, not real fast, and had a lot of grain. Good challenge.

El Campeón 18-hole championship course was designed by Chicago-based course architect, George O’Neil and built in 1917 – with further enhancements in 1926 by Charles E. Clarke of Troon, Scotland.

Most of the driving holes have fairly wide landing areas. The challenge comes in the form of 85+ feet elevation changes! Fairways and greens are close to immaculate, like playing on carpet. There's water in play on practically every hole along with ample bunkers and undulating greens. The hanging moss covered live oaks in this area are something you don't see every day in other parts of the country and provide an almost surreal setting. If golf in heaven is this pretty, I can't wait!

Greens were in fantastic shape. Fairways were in great condition too.

There were several sets of tee markers to choose to play. We chose to play the white tees and it was measured to be 6200 yards! Lots of water but most was only in play with a bad shot!We were only able to play the front nine as the rain started on the 6th hole and didn't stop. We did play the original 18 holes which I understand to be the more difficult of the two courses. It is a beautiful resort and I would recommend it to anyone!

This course is in top condition and the layout is tremendous. It feels like you’re somewhere up north with the elevation and beautiful hills. Favorite course I’ve played in the state.

Challenging holes, outstanding layout and greens in great form. It never disappoints!

Ok, this is the best golf course I have ever played. Friendly staff at check in. Course conditions were excellent. The nature is incredible. The drive between holes is so peaceful and interesting. We felt like we were only people on the course. Granted, it was hot as heck and 2 pm in afternoon but it was so peaceful. I would play again even if it was packed and it was a 6 hour round. Seriously, everything was fabulous. Love the course layout and greens were spot on. Ok, play this course now. You won’t regret it.

Course was nice but did Not know it had just been aerated. Going to need a few weeks to recover.

This was a very fun course. This course really helps your driving game to be better. Greens were great. I had a lot of fun. The only issue I thought hole 14 or 15 was a little unfair. Hitting a par 3 236 yds and tree branches are in front of the green. Loved playing here.

Speedy greens In great condition. Good fairways. Nice unusual layout. A golf ball eater. Lots of water. But very few courses in Florida have hills and valleys with two club differences. Yesterday they are frustrating, but ultimately very fair, and fun. Don’t take the short yardage for granite. It plays a lot longer.
