About Mission Inn Resort & Club

The family-owned Mission Inn is one of Florida's friendliest and most value-forward resorts. With two golf courses, including the century-old El Campeon layout, it is an ideal setting for buddies trips and, at about 45 minutes from Orlando International Airport (MCO), remains convenient to reach from afar while removed from O-town's occasionally chaotic energy.

Nice Course, Pace of play unacceptable (5 & 1/2 hrs). Avoid on weekends

Drove up for Orlando for a round with my brother (both single digit handicaps). The course was nice, conditions were good. Greens rolled well, not overly fast but because of some the contours if they were much faster they would have been unplayable. The single biggest issue (really not many beyond that) was the pace of play. We teed off at 1:24pm and finished at 6:40pm. On the 2nd hole we had a ranger come up to us as we're backed up 2 groups on the tee to play ready golf and we told him, the groups in front of us need the talking to. We thought that might take care of it, but we never saw the guy again. What was an enjoyable round on a nice, difficult course was frankly marred by 10 minute waits on the tee. I would consider going back, but certainly not on a weekend. It's definitely a course to play, for the money you pay and the prestige the course holds in the area, you think they would prioritize this issue a little more.

Always enjoy playing this course.

Always enjoy playing this course. Greens were good and true. It was a little slow starting out but the Marshall moved players along and it worked. Would recommend playing this course. Reseeding a number of tees.

Slowest round ever

This was a 6 hour round of totally unacceptable torture 4 groups on a tee box

Ranger gave us bs story that first group of the morning was 20 minutes slower than normal

We teed off at 12.04 and it took 6 hours everyone was mad

Course is a good track with some good greens .

Will never be back

Good but not Great - Used to be Excellent

We had a terrible experience with conditions about 1 year ago on Los Colinas and were skeptical about coming back. El Campeon was the course we played on Feb23-2022 at 2:30 in the afternoon. I have played El Campeon probably 6 times in the past 9 years and the greens have always been EXCELLENT. From their look and feel, to their speed, you could tell the money was spent and the experience was great. Not quite anymore, the greens are only slightly above average on the "nice public course" scale, and like mentioned, a good 2 steps from where they were a couple of years ago. I know not everyone has an unlimited budget, but the perception is that the greens are just not as nice as they should be for this historic and beautiful property.

Had we payed $90 or $100, we would have been disappointed. We got the twilight rate, and made 17 holes, but the last 6-8 holes were very slow, and could have been sped up by 10 minutes with a ranger out there watching things, which would have allowed us to finish our round. Don't expect excellent, just expect slightly above average and you won't be disappointed.

I would rather pay $120 and have the greens and experience be EXCELLENT than to pay $60 and have it be slightly above average. Of note, w played Disney Palm later in the trip, paid $120 and it was EXCELLENT. We played PGA Village Dye course and paid $125 and it was EXCELLENT. Florida golf is booming, but driving a bit out of the way to go here is a bit of a stretch if you have high standards. The 3 of us that played are all 4-6 handicap snobs if you will, so our standards are on the higher side.

Hope that helps.

Great golf experience but not happy with Golfnow in the booking process

I had a very enjoyable day at El campeon although my golf really sucked! The biggest disappointment however was when I arrived at the course I saw that golf now had double booked me for AM tee time was not confirmed the night before! I am in the process of confirming that I am not going to be double charged.

Disappointed

Played at this facility a couple years ago, the course has changed dramatically. Would not pay more than $20 to play a course in this condition. The bones are there for a great facility but clearly in free fall, would not recommend to friends or others for that matter.

Disappointed

Mission Inn has a beautiful setting and is a very nice and challenging golf course. However from the moment we checked in, we were disappointed. Man who registered us was rude. Then told by starter there would be an hour delay. That did turn into 40 minute delay. Then a five hour round of golf—waited on every hole. Will never return nor share positive review.

Thank you for your feedback, Our apologies...we are sorry that you had a negative experience. This college event played at an usually slow pace, which put us behind throughout the day. We hope you reconsider and return to Mission Inn Resort.

Excellent conditions

Golf course is alot different than it's other course on property but as good.Conditions were as good as LPGA.You can tell they pay attention to fertilizing as grass was very green compared to some courses weve played that are thin and brownish. You pay for what you get.Pretty flat compared to el campeon which has alot of elevation changes.Very good test of golf and will definitely return.

Challenging Course… Slow Play

This is a tight challenging golf course. The overall conditions were good and the on course beverage service was timely. If you are playing on the weekend expect at least a 5 hour round.

So glad we played Las Colinas!

My husband and I had a great day at Mission Inn - Las Colinas. I booked the tee time via a Hot Deal on Golf Now and it was worth the hour drive to Howey in the Hills! The clubhouse / pro-shop is beautiful and a beautiful backdrop to the first tee. In general, I would say that the fairways are very narrow -- the further back you play, the more this is true. Our only criticism of the course was the greens -- they were in great shape, rolled pretty true, but were soooooo slowwww!! We were paired with a couple of guys that were really fun to play with -- it was a great day!

Tight!!!

Course was in really nice shape and what you’d expect for a resort type facility. I did not use the range not even sure if they have one. Nice putting green. Tee to green it was great. This course is REALLY tight. Not a place for someone who sprays it off the tee. Play the proper tees the group in front of me was brutal and should have moved up 2 sets of boxes. Miserable day for them.

Slow Greens

Not sure why the greens were so slow, sticky, and furry, but still one on my favorite courses. The Fist guy we meet was a Retired Navy Man and greeted us with our cart a smile and story. He was an awesome human being.

Great golf; but you're not the only one enjoying

Mission Inn has two equally spectacular courses with unusual elevation changes for a Florida. Plenty of elevated tee boxes. El Campeon punishes the 220 yard tee shot (in a proper way) with well placed bunkers. Challenging greens. Can get awful slow out there with the big groups playing; so don't come in a rush and you're certain to enjoy it. Clubhouse staff can be a little uppity; but everybody else is cool.
