Marginal fun if cart path only

In fairness Crooked Cat is a very nice course. We happened to play when they had done some seeding in November and it was cart path only. Course fairways are very forgiving and wide but near green traps and undulations make it challenging. Staff was very nice and overall experience very good.

Course in great shape! Wish I could have played the entire 18

Panther has been recently overseeded, and we weren't told the entire course was cart path only until we were on the first tee. Wish we were notified when booking this round. OCN always plays slow (about 4.5 - 5 hours for 18). We teed off at 2:30 PM and were only able to get 14 holes in before it was too dark. OCN should be offering a discounted rate beyond 2:30 considering the sun sets at 5:30. Maybe an "all you can play" rate to better add value to the round?

All things being said, the course is in perfect shape and worth the full price if you don't tee off too late after the time change. Would recommend.

Pace of play….

Always a nice course to play when we come down to Florida. Good conditions, greens were great, practice facility is first rate. If you’re not teeing off before noon, you might not get the round in! We had a 1230 tee off time and were stuck behind a foursome that was playing inappropriate tee blocks. The Marshall came by once, however, did not rectify the issue and we finished 18 just before sunset, brutal.

Pace of play

Teed off at 1:12 and made it through 9 holes in 2.5 hrs as we waited on every tee box and fairway. Surprising for a Monday afternoon but was impacted by the over seeding on the Panther Lakes course at the site. We were given the opportunity to replay front 9 and by the second hole we were back to standing around and waiting and decided to call it a day.

When I checked in at the pro shop was told that someone had already come in and claimed my prepaid tee time but it was sorted out fairly quickly but somewhat unnerving when there was question about being able to play.

I liked the course and would live to play all 18. Drove almost 3 hrs to play the course in a meet up with one of my friends so it was disappointing to not get the full round in but would play there again.

Would not play again in the afternoon there as the tee sheet is too packed and it limits the expereince for everyone on the course when it is that slow on a weekday.

Great course, lousy staff

The course was over seeded so cart path only and pace of play followed that.

As usual we got bad service from the ranger about speeding up because we were supposedly 2 MINUTES BEHIND. I can’t tell you how many times they’ve told us that. I’ve played about 50 rounds out there over 30 years and still the same treatment. And cart staff was rude upon arrival back at clubhouse. Most staff is not customer oriented and it shows.
