Ponte Vedra Inn & Club
About Ponte Vedra Inn & Club
Somewhat overshadowed by Sawgrass, this classic inn and resort predates it by several decades. Two charming golf courses have benefited from the design expertise of local resident and experienced architect Bobby Weed, and the new Lodge recently increased the resort's accommodations complement by several dozen rooms. Ponte Vedra Inn & Club should be near the top of the list for visitors seeking a sense of Old Florida.Facts

Disappointing
Played this course 2 years ago and was expecting similar conditions but was very disappointed .The course has deteriorated . Bumpy sandy greens , many burned out ,some with weeds , fairways are terrible as are tee boxes. There was one fairway on the back that could be called lush . One.
Nice green grass but on virtually all the other holes this was not the case. Nothing but tight lies. Some rock hard
Pace of play was brutal. Our three some was behind a slow 4 some. It was just shy of a five and a half hour round .On the plus side-
Good practice facility. Nice friendly people
Nice layout , helpful staff but grounds were tired
Walked in to the pro shop and was greeted by a very helpful and friendly staff member
Nice practice areas, and a good course layout, my only concern was the grounds were not in good shape. Even when compared to “lesser” local tracks.
Needs some horticultural love .
The Greens are not green and need work
The course itself is OK. The design is fine. The boxes are in pretty good shape and the fairways are OK. The greens are not in good shape and are like putting on asphalt.
Conditions
The course conditions have declined over the past several weeks
Greens are ok but tees and fairways need work
Highly recommended
Outstanding design, best value in Sarasota area. Greens a little thin but rolled true and fast, other than that one of best in the area.
Great value in afternoon
Course condition was a bit dry but ok overall. Greens patchy but flat and true. Great value at $30 for nine. Booked again for tomorrow!
3x @ Wilderness
Went back because I found a hidden gem. Seems many have found the gem, because it was a lot more crowded. Still a good course for the money.
Windy Day at Club River Wilderness
We play this course a few times during our Winter stay in the area. The layout is decent and challenging. It was a very gusty windy day and the course played longer. The greens are a good fast pace however, the fairways are in need of better maintenance with many areas patchy with sand and no growth. We do our best to fill every divot that others failed to do, while waiting for groups. If everyone did the same, it would help; including fixing ball marks on greens! The bunkers are the worst in the area. It's a dark gray heavy sand that you should avoid bunkers at all costs. Staff is always friendly and receptive.
