Ponte Vedra Inn & Club
About Ponte Vedra Inn & Club
Somewhat overshadowed by Sawgrass, this classic inn and resort predates it by several decades. Two charming golf courses have benefited from the design expertise of local resident and experienced architect Bobby Weed, and the new Lodge recently increased the resort's accommodations complement by several dozen rooms. Ponte Vedra Inn & Club should be near the top of the list for visitors seeking a sense of Old Florida.Facts

River
pace was great.. drained well after earlier storms.
Greens not in best shape... fair amount of weeds in spots.
Love the layout
My golf partner and I really enjoyed playing River Wilderness. Played it for the first time last Friday and came back today. A few tee boxes were bare and some greens had crabgrass. Nevertheless, we loved the layout and hospitality of the staff
Always Fun!
Course had some challenging holes and it's always fun to play.

I played RW several times during last 2 years. This was first time in several months. Course conditions deteriorated considerably which may explain the $14;green fee. In the past it has been $30+ green fee.
The club is struggling financially and it showed the course is now weed infested in need of aerification. No available ice heat index was 105...
I doubt I will return to play even with a $14 green fee...
Course with a Lot is Character
Each hole at River Wilderness has a lot of character.

I have played this course several times during the last 2 years until today course conditions were always above average. Today was the first time I played at RW in several months. I noticed a significant deterioration in course conditions bunkers were weed infested increased weeds growing in fairways. Fairway appeared to be in need of water or lacked aerification the greens were rough and poorly maintained. The green Fee was reduced to $14.00 in the past the green fee was $30.00- $40.00. The positive low activity on the course so pace of play was not delayed..
Sad this was an exceptional course now a bargain course with the reputation you get what you pay for.
Beautiful Course
Each hole had character. Course was delightful to play.
The course has a great laid out
How ever for all the years that I’ve been in the area the course has been in trouble. Problem I see is that there are many nicer golf cousin the area for which are semi private making it available for anyone to play... RiverWildernes have been going back n forth with totally private, open to the public, totally private n so on therefore people don’t bother going there...no money from the public means no money for course maintenance....
My Sunday 4 some loves it
FREE range balls!!! Once you get past the 2nd hole (hint, hit a lay up) it is a fun grip and rip course. Beautiful layout with plenty of risk or reward holes. Has a few maintenance issues but I heard that the course is in negotiations for a sale and maybe they are trying to keep overhead costs down. It is still in really good shape for any course in fla this time of year. They do have members that have leagues, all very nice people, but if you get behind them be prepared for a very slow front nine. I hope it doesn't go private again. Play it now for a very good deal because it will probably never be this affordable again, and, or if even you will ever be allowed to book this course again in the near future. Guy's in the pro shop were great. The club house was closed and no cart person the day we played.
What a Shame
This was a top course and now needs alot of TLC
Sand and weed Fairways and Tee Boxes
Greens slow but ok
Sand ok
What Happen to this Course??
Played for years and today was the worst conditions.
Greens and Traps are Good but downhill from there.
Burned out Fairways and loads of weeds and sand.
Tee Boxes horrible. Sorry love the layout and challenge but it is showing a lot of TLC
Not bad
Very dry course for summer in FL, greens look as if they were punched a few weeks ago, but not much water, and not rolled so they were bumpy and fast, otherwise fun course for the money.
Course is very dry but in better shape than some recent reviews suggest. Greens roll fairly well.
Good value
Can’t beat the price, nice layout, always a good pace.
