Great course

1st time playing the Raven and could not have been more pleased. Fairways and greens were in great shape, pace of play was acceptable with little delays. Played another course yesterday at the same rate and this was head and shoulders above the other. Definitely worth the price

Baytowne - Its not all it is cracked up to be

I love the layout of Baytowne, it is fun and challenging. However, the greens are not good. They are VERY slow and have never run close to what the practice green is cut for. The cups are not even, several holes have raised lips. Additionally, the sand traps often time do not have rakes.

When the course is over seeded, the maintenance team has the chance to make the greens super fun and special but instead they continue to keep them running at a 6 or 7. I wish they would either decide to invest in this course or get rid of it as it is a disappointing experience to play as a member...I can't imagine what a guest paying over $100 would think when they finish.

The best part about playing Baytowne is the staff. The check-in team inside as well as the beverage and cart team are the BEST!!!

Fertilized Greens

Personally I would love it if a golf course let you know ahead of time that their greens would be covered in Fertilizer. Really affected putting but we lived with it. Still a great place to play but you better like water and have the ability to avoid it.

Enjoyable course

Good overall. A few tees were a little chewed up, but excellent course conditions otherwise. Good pace. Not overly challenging.

First time at Baytowne

I did like the golf course.

However:

The greens were painfully slow, (but were healthy and rolled true).

The bunkers hadn’t been raked in days (wet and hard in low spots, at least one had grass growing in it).

Some tees lacked sufficient grass and I put my tee in dirt

The layout was fun and challenging without being punishing.

I’d play there again if conditions improved.

Fun course

Possibly my favorite course in the Destin area. It’s not long and can penalize you for using long clubs. However, the course gives you a number of holes along the bay.and lots of challenging but manageable approach and short game shots.

For the value the course was in great shape. I would have loved to hit woods and hybrids at the range but it’s irons only. Pace of play is likely slow. We started 10 minutes late due to the group in front of us. I would expect afternoon play might back up.

Sandestin Links

I really enjoyed this course.

It’s very challenging, tight, especially in the wind.

The course is very picturesque, lots of bay views.

Great course-so much fun to play!

I played with my 2 younger sons and the staff were very accommodating. Course was in great shape! Greens ran a little slow but not a problem whatsoever. We were waiting behind a group in front of us that had a foursome so only a bit behind pace but otherwise an all around great course and round!!

Round at the Raven

Great layout. One of my favorites in the area. Early tee time but range not open under 8am. Also greens covered in sand. Not sure what the reasoning is but they rolled ok. Certainly expected better though for the price. May be a better value at twilight rate. We had a great time and played on four hours.

Not worth it.

For 130$ I’d expect a little better kept course. Greens were horrible and the sand was hard as a rock. Fairways was ok but not great. Staff seamed annoyed at us for asking to point us in the direction of the first tee. We are from north central Ohio and honestly our muni courses are twice as better and cost half the price. I’d go back and play 18 if the price was 60ish$.

Golf links

I played here and you need to be a where there are roots under the grass even 30 yards out from some of the trees

I injured my right arm hitting my shot from 1 on them and then other places the grass is like it is floating on water and your ball plugs

I really wasn’t expecting this stuff

Good course but should be better for the cost

Played for the first time over a spring break trip. Most holes were in good shape and beautiful. Greens are very slow. Biggest issue was that most sand traps were unplayable and not manicured at all. I was in three sand traps and had to move my ball out or to the 10% of the trap that actually had good sand. My big issue was with their customer service. Sandestin golf resorts must contract it out off-shore. They were useless. I called the day before to see if we could use the range and was told it was open to the public. Then I was told you needed to be a resort guest. They then transferred me to the pro shop but there was no answer and was sent back to another rep who I had to explain my entire question to again. I did eventually get in touch with the clubhouse and was told the range is closed for maintenance. We also had one set of clubs that didn't make it and customer service said we could share a bag in that situation. We get to the course and were told no and had to spend another $80 for club rental. Total cost for 2 golfers $330. I get that the golf bag thing is common but that confirms that customer service is useless and has zero knowledge of this location. For this cost I expected a little more but was still one of the lower costs in the area. Golf itself was great except for the traps and a few fairways that were not in the best shape. Pro shop staff was very nice and apologetic for their customer service.

Nice Course

Course was very nice. Greens were super slow but consistent. Driving range was a little too crowded, but we got there early so no big deal.

Great layout

The layout is great, and the staff is friendly. However, the price of $130 for greens that don’t roll true and some that are filled with weeds seems unreasonable.
