Nice Course, pace of play was not great.
I really enjoy the course. Pace of play was not great.
Good course and challenging
We went during a tournament event the golf assistants were a little chaotic but otherwise pretty smooth process of getting clubs - hitting practice facilities - and to a round of golf. Pace of play could have been better (wish the 4some group who would hit 3 balls per shot in front of us - would have been humble to play best ball but whatever)
Overcrowded
The round took about four hours but the pace of play was choppy. A lot of hurry up and wait.
The red
Fun course, no to long but in good shape. If you can't hit it straight you better bring extra ammo. Lots of H2O in play
Very Disappointing
Was totally looking forward to playing this club for first time. It was an awful experience. From checking in to confusion around no carts available to delayed tee time, carts would stop you with no direction as to which way to go. We finally left a couple holes early and left our cart because it got locked. The staff was very friendly and lunch was fine. This place needs a brand new process.
Good course, not great
Clubhouse was very nice, and staff was great. A little annoying that you have to valet park and they charge $32 for it, on top of the steep price already paying to play. The course layout was fun, but a little quirky with a few holes, and relatively short...even from their back tees. Played it in 4 hours, so that was nice.
Greens were soft and rolled pretty well...not super fast, but not slow. Fairways were in decent shape, but not great or what I would expect for the price tag. Carts were dated, which was surprising for a Trump course and the money paid to play. Driving range was adequate, but nothing special. Overall, not worth the $295 price tag...probably worth it at $150-175 if you can find a deal.
Red Tiger
I decided to play Red Tiger at Doral because the design is rather unique. There are six Par 5s, six Par 4s, and six Par 3s. Gil Hanse did a great job setting up a course that's high on fun. Don't let the 6400y number from the tips trick you into thinking it's a short course. That's simply the result of the 6/6/6 setup. It was definitely worth the price I paid, but Doral isn't a must-repeat because everything has extra charges and everyone is looking for tips. The valet alone is $32.
Best overall
Played here for the first time. Course conditions were impeccable and the overall experience top notch. Would not change a thing, and will definitely come back. In fact, I am considering a full membership.
Great course and challenge
Overall very great experience. Excellent practice facility especially putting green. All staff very friendly.
Silver fox is a challenging course. Water very much in play. Bring lots of balls. Course excellent condition especially greens. Didn’t have time for post round beer but champions grill looked amazing
Will be back 100% and excited to try the other courses. Praying blue monster goes on a hot deal soon
Feeling a Trump course
The quality of the course is overall beyond my expectations of a place in name of Trump! Has Trump himself ever set his foot on this field? If yes, isn’t he shamed for the conditions of the entire course? If not, the name of the Trump should be removed from this property!!!! What a shame!
Beautiful Track. Thanks GolfNow
I was unwilling to pay the exorbitant prices, but GN came through with a $180 price (about 1/2 off). Beware there are many additional costs at the course. $32 parking. $20 ham sandwich on the course, but still - got my Doral round in!
A Very Fun Course with Friends
The Golden Palm course is a fairly easy golf course with very open fairways and the water, while present, is rarely at play. Tee boxes were in great shape and even the rough was easy to hit good shots from. The fairways were solid, but not plush like the nicer golf courses. Bunkers are powdery and easy to escape, with a few fairway bunkers that had high lips that you should be careful of. The greens were moderate and putts were true.
I was traveling for a meeting and decided to lug my clubs around a play a relaxing round in Miami. I was able to achieve that. From the MIA airport, an Uber dropped me off where the concierge stored my luggage (since I was not staying at the resort) and sent my golf bag to the starter.
Arriving around 1020AM on a Sunday there was a brunch at the restaurant upstairs for $38 (I think.) It was normal “buffet” fare which I chose to not partake. I waited for another few minutes for the Champions Bar to have a nice lunch. The restaurant had sweeping views of the golf course, putting green, and a water fountain. Great relaxing experience for lunch. Food was OK and while the ambience was nice don’t expect a swanky dining experience.
There are two golf shops, the main BIG one and a small one dedicated to the Blue Monster. Prices were what you will expect where shirts are between $90-150 and caps are $40 and above. Huge selection for men, and a decent one for women upstairs. There is a “Sale” section tucked into the far corner upstairs where pretty good deals can be found.
The driving range is included in the fee and you’ll be given a cart to take there. There is a limit of 250 yards for the range since you’re hitting onto other golfers on the other side (it’s a face-off type of driving range). The range balls are old Taylormades and fairly scuffed, which was a disappointment but not a deal breaker by any means.
The starter, Buddy, I think, was amazing. A fairly experienced gentleman, he gave you a good idea of the course, sent you off with some tees and ball markers, and treated me well and with a smile. Cold bottled water is available for free and carts have ice boxes which you can refill once in the back 9 (hole 12 or 13) I think.
Overall, it was a great experience for me. Relaxing. Fairly easy course. Great maintenance. Friendly service. Good price.
Silver Fox
Played Silver Fox a few years ago & thought it was exceptional. Played again this year & whilst it’s still a great interesting course, it’s not quite as well maintained as some of the other Trump Courses around the world.
Hotel facilities are exceptional as you might expect. Opulent decor, luxury feel everywhere. Cool Bar & Grill you can watch the games & have a post round drink which was quite reasonable all things considered. Super friendly bar staff!
Booked through golf now & at 225 bucks it’s not cheap.
4 years ago this was a 5/5 venue. Now probably more like 4/5.
I’d be interested to see if the Blue Monster was maintained a little better? At $700 I’d hope it was.
